Organizations Filed Purposes: THE KANSAS HISPANIC EDUCATIONAL & DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION IS ORGANIZED TO PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL AND LEADERSHIP ADVANCEMENT IN THE HISPANIC COMMUNITY THROUGH ENCOURAGING EDUCATION THROUGH ENDOWMENTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS, ASSISTING HISPANIC PROFESSIONALS WITH LEADERSHIP EXPERIANCES AND ASSISTING ORGANIZATIONS WITH DEVELOPMENT OF HISPANIC PROFESSIONALS.

DURING 2020 THE ORGANIZATION PAID $95,902 IN SCHOLARSHIPS FOR 115 KHEDF SCHOLARS. STUDENTS ATTENDED WICHITA STATE UNIVERSITY, UNIVERSITY OF KANSAS, UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI-KANSAS CITY, KANSAS STATE UNIVERSITY, BUTLER COMMUNITY COLLEGE, BENEDICTINE COLLEGE, COWLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE, FRIENDS UNIV, MGH INSTITUTE OF HEALTH PROFESSIONALS, MASSACHUSETS INSTITUTE OF TECH, NEWMAN UNIVERSITY, OKLAHOMA CITY UNIV, PRINCESTON UNIVERSITY, WSU TECHNICAL, UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO, UNIVERSITY OF DENVER, UNIVERSITY OF NEBRASKA-LINCOLN, NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE, WASHBURN UNIVERSITY AND BETHAL COLLEGE. IN ADDITION IN-KIND SCHOLARSHIPS DONATED BY VARIOUS UNIVERSITIES WERE AWARDED TO STUDENTS. THE ORGANIZATION IN JUNE 2020 HELD A VIRTUAL ANNUAL SCHOLARS & RECOGNITION DINNER. THE EVENT PROVIDES AN OPPORTUNITY FOR STUDENTS, PARENTS, DONORS, MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND KHEDF REPRESENTATIVES AN OPPORTUNITY TO RECOGNIZE OUR SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS AND THE GENEROSITY OF CONTRIBUTORS AND VOLUNTEERS IN SUPPORT OF OUR MISSION.

THE HISPANIC SCHOLARS ALUMNI NETWORK IS A PROGRAM TO MAINTAIN CONTACT WITH PAST SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS. IN JANUARY 5, 2020 THE PROGRAM HELD A HOLIDAY RECEPTION TO PROMOTE NEWTWORKING OPPORTUNITIES AMOUNT KHEDF SCHOLARS, DONORS AND SUPPORTERS.

THE EXPENSES ARE FOR TU FUTURO: THROUGH EDUCATION & LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS. THIS WAS HELD ON MARCH 12, 2020. THE WORKSHOP IS DESIGNED FOR HIGH SCHOOL JUNIORS WITH AN INTEREST IN PURSUING A HIGHER EDUCATION WITH LEADERSHIP POTENTIAL. THE WORKSHOP PROVIDES STUDENTS WITH TOOLS AND RESOURCES TO PREPARE, APPLY AND GET ACCEPTED INTO COLLEGE. THE WORKSHOP HOSTS A COLLEGE FAIR WHICH PROVIDES STUDENTS AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET ONE-ON-ONE WITH COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY REPRESENTATIVES.
