THE FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION (FDA)COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT'S BROADGOAL IS TO REDUCE THE RISK OF ILLNESS AND DEATHS IN THE UNITED STATES CAUSED BY THE UNNECESSARY RADIATION EXPOSURE, OR CAUSED BY LESS THANOPTIMUM QUALITY RADIOGRAPHIC PROCEDURES.
THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY (EPA) COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT IS TOASSIST STATE AND LOCAL RADIATION CONTROL PROGRAMSIN PROTECTING THEIRRESPECTIVE CITIZENS FROM EXPOSURE TO ELEVATED RADON IN RESIDENTIAL HOMES, OTHER BUILDINGS, AND DRINKING WATER.
