WaterStep (WS) impacts lives with safe water by empowering communites to take care of their own long-term water and sanitation needs. WS believes that the best solutions to water problems are rooted in simple tools and effective training. Our (Continued on Schedule O) mission can be accomplished in a variety of ways. We can sometimes supply equipment and training to our field consultants around the world, sometimes it is supplying safe water and sanitation in the midst of a disaster. Sometimes it is training other people to use our equipment as they head out to do mission work and sometimes it is helping our field consultants open water or sanitation based businesses. WS also provides a Community Education and Engagment Program which creates partnerships in the community through shoe collection drives and educational presenations that address the world water crisis.
We impact lives by helping global communities meet long-term safe water and sanitation needs.
In 2019 WaterStep (WS) impacted 380,500 lives with access to safe water, sanitation and health education. Bringing our grand total over to 2.8 milion lives served providing hope and a healthier life. We did this by deploying 386 pieces of water treatment and sanitation equipment in 13 different countries and conducted training for 3,600 individuals, virtually and by in-country field consultants at a very low cost. In 2019, We have 29 active partners working on 261 different water projects across the globe. We provided disaster relief by deployed life-saving equipment to the country of Malawi who suffered horrific devestation due to flooding. We also continued to deploy equipment to the DRC for the Ebola outbreak and we finished our work to support Puerto Rico after their hurricane (Continued on Schedule O) in late 2017. Our Community Education and Engagement Program provided education to over 100 groups and generated approximately 181,000 pounds of shoes to be repurposed and used around the world to benefit others.
