Organizations Filed Purposes:
The Conference is devoted to the development of amateur and professional musicians as chamber players. The Conference is also comitted to the development of new music by commissions and performances of new works by composers in residence. Coaching, participant performances and 8 faculty concerts as well as lectures are offered.
Chamber Music Conf held for 4 wks in July Aug, approx 300 clients served. Study of music, lectures and 7 concerts open free to the public. New compositions of emerging composers are commissioned and presented through the Composers Forum.
Coaching Seminars Participants are coached by professional faculty daily up to 21 hrs per week in up to four assigned chamber music works. One or more seminars and/or lectures are also given during each week.
Concerts by CMCs distinguished faculty of professional musicians are held Eight times during the four week program. These concerts are free to the general public.
Composers Forum CMC engages two Composers in Residence each week for 3 of the 4 weeks of the conference. The faculty performs their work, and participants study their compositions. Student Composer Fellows are invited to compose works. CMC occassionally commissions a major new chamber work to be performed during the summer conference.
