AMEGO IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES THE RESOURCES AND SUPPORTS THEY NEED TO GROW AND BECOME INDEPENDENT, PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS IN THEIR COMMUNITY. BY INTEGRATING TEACHING, SUPPORT SYSTEMS AND DIVERSE OPPORTUNITIES, EACH INDIVIDUAL WILL GAIN THE EXPERIENCE NEEDED TO MEET AND SUCCEED IN THE CHALLENGES THAT THEY WILL ENCOUNTER IN LIFE.
AMEGO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL, WORK AND COMMUNITY BASED RESIDENTIAL SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS WITH AUTISM AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. AMEGO PROVIDES THE RESOURCES AND SUPPORTS THEY NEED TO GROW AND BECOME INDEPENDENT PRODUCTIVE CITIZENS IN THEIR COMMUNITY.
ADULT -179 INDIVIDUALS RECEIVED ADULT RESIDENTIAL SERVICES AND 201 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED IN OUR ADULT DAY PROGRAMS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 06/30/20. ADULT RESIDENTIAL HOMES ARE OPEN AND OPERATED 365 DAYS A YEAR. AMEGO PROVIDES SERVICES FOR ADULTS WITH AUTISM IN COMMUNITY BASE SETTINGS THAT EMPHASIZE DIGNITY, CONTINUED LEARNING, PERSONAL CHOICES AND INDIVIDUALIZED PLANNING. EACH RESIDENTIAL SETTING PROVIDES A SOLID AND SECURE BASE FROM WHICH INDIVIDUALS CAN FREELY DISCOVER AND EXPRESS THEMSELVES AT HOME WHILE EXPLORING AND EXPANDING THEIR OPTIONS WITHIN COMMUNITY. FAMILY RELATIONS ARE ENCOURAGED AND SUPPORTED BY AMEGO STAFF. EXCELLENTSTAFFING RATIOS PROVIDE SAFE AND APPROPRIATE LEVELS OF SUPERVISION FOR A VARIETY OF INDIVIDUALS AND GROUP ACTIVITIES. SOME OF THE MEANINGFUL GROUP ACTIVITIES THAT RESIDENTS PARTICIPATED IN THIS YEAR INCLUDE OUTINGS TO MAJOR AND MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL GAMES, CONCERTS OF INTERNATIONALLY KNOWN PERFORMERS, LOCAL COUNTY FAIRS, PLAYS AND OTHER PERFORMANCES. OTHER DAILY COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BOWLING, DINING OUT, GOING TO THE MOVIES AND OTHERS ACCORDING TO EACH INDIVIDUAL'S INTEREST. ADULT DAY PROGRAMS PROVIDES ON-SITE EMPLOYMENT FOR INDIVIDUALS WHO DEMONSTRATE AN APTITUDE IN A VARIETY OF AREAS OF INTEREST. THIS IS A FLEXIBLE PROGRAM MODEL OFFERING OPPORTUNITIES FOR WORK, VOLUNTEERING, AND OPTIONS FOR COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES THAT HELP ROUND OUT AN INDIVIDUALS DEVELOPMENTAL PROFILE. WE HAVE BEEN VERY SUCCESSFUL IN ASSISTING THOSE WHO ARE BEHAVIORALLY CHALLENGED TO ADAPT AND PARTICIPATE IN MEANINGFUL WORK WITH THE PROSPECT OF GAININGSUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT IN THE FUTURE.
CHILDRENS/CLASS RESIDENTIAL- 47 STUDENTS RECEIVED CLASSROOM AND RESIDENTIAL SERVICES FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDED 06/30/20. STUDENT RESIDENTIAL HOMES ARE OPEN AND OPERATED 365 DAYS A YEAR. THE CLASSROOM FOCUS IS ON ACADEMIC, EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL SKILLS DEVELOPMENT. TEACHING AT THE RESIDENCE IS GEARED TOWARD INDEPENDENCE IN SELF-CARE AND OTHER DOMESTIC ACTIVITIES. CONSULTANTS ARE UTILIZED IN SPECIALIZED AREAS SUCH AS PHYSICAL THERAPY, SPEECH THERAPY AND OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY. RECREATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES OCCUR EACH DAY AND MAY INCLUDE BOWLING, SHOPPING, SWIMMING, HORSEBACK RIDING OR GOING TO THE MOVIES. ALL ACTIVITIES ARE TAILORED TO THE INTEREST OF EACH STUDENT. FAMILY RELATIONSHIPS POSITIVELY IMPACT OUR STUDENTS AND AMEGO IS COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING, SUPPORTING AND CULTIVATING THE RELATIONSHIPS OUR STUDENTS HAVE WITH THEIR FAMILY MEMBERS.
CLINICAL- 301 INDIVIDUALS WERE SERVED FOR A TOTAL OF 59,431 HOURS. THE CLINICAL NETWORK IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A PERSON-CENTERED APPROACH, BASED ON THE SCIENCE OF APPLIED BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS(ABA), TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS WHO ENGAGE CHALLENGING BEHAVIORS OR WHO HAVE SKILL DEFICITS THAT IMPACT THEIR DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRESS. WE FOCUS ON THE INDIVIDUAL STRENGTHS FIRST AND BUILD UPON THOSE STRENGTHS THROUGH INDIVIDUALIZED GOALS AND OBJECTIVES. SOME OF THE SERVICE PROVIDED INCLUDE - INITIAL PSYCHOLOGIAL DIAGNOSTIC EVALUATIONS, SPEECH/LANGUAGE ASSESSMENTS, SOCIAL SKILLS TRAINING, IN-HOME/SCHOOL DIRECT ABA SERVICES AND EARLY INTERVENTION.
