The mission of The History Project is to preserve, protect, and exhibit Boston' LBGTQ+ history
The most significant activity is History Makers It is a ceremony to honor a persons that have made an impact on the LBGTQ community
The History Maker's event is The History Project's big end of the year event and fundraiser. It both honors individuals within the LBGTQ+ community who have make significant contributions to the LBGTQ+ community within the Boston area as well as serves as our largest source of event driven revenue throught both ticket sales and donations.
The event Pink Tea, held in February of 2020 prior to COVID restrictions, was a combination of the celebration of the organization 40th birthday and a fundraiser to help fund events for the upcoming year.
Speaking engagements have recently become a valuable source of revenue. During COVID, many companies reached out to The History Project's executive director for video based programing. As a result, what was usually a small source of revenue for The History Project grew substantially during 2020. And because all of the events were video based, the costs associated with these events were zero.
