IS A NONPROFIT COALITION OF 62 COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY PRESIDENTS COMMITTED TO DEVELOPING THE CIVIC ENGAGEMENT SKILLS OF STUDENTS, BUILDING PARTNERSHIPS WITH THE COMMUNITY, AND INTEGRATING CIVIC ENGAGEMENT WITH TEACHING AND RESEARCH.AS A MEMBER OF MACC, ALL INSTITUTIONS ARE ALSO MEMBERS OF THE NATIONAL NETWORK CAMPUS COMPACT, A VIBRANT NATIONAL NETWORK OF MORE THAN 1,100 CAMPUS PRESIDENTS AND CHANCELLORS WHO ARE COMMITTED TO BUILDING STRONG COMMUNITIES AND CREATING INFORMED CITIZENS.MACC IS ONE OF THE LARGEST STATE AFFILIATES WITH 62 MEMBER CAMPUSES (16 PUBLIC AND 46 PRIVATE) AND ACTIVELY PARTNERS WITH ALL OF THE NEW ENGLAND STATE COMPACT NETWORKS. THERE ARE 36 STATE COMPACT NETWORKS AND 5 REGIONAL CONSORTIA.DURING FY 2017, MACC PROVIDED THE FOLLOWING BENEFITS TO ITS MEMBERS:- PRESIDENTIAL LEADERSHIP- CURRICULA, RESEARCH AND PROGRAM SUPPORT- FUNDING - MACC HAS 28 AMERICORPS VISTA MEMBERS PLACED ON CAMPUSES FOR A YEAR OF FULL-TIME SERVICE BUILDING CAPACITY FOR CAMPUS-COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS FOR EDUCATION, FOCUSING ON SCHOOL READINESS, K-12 SUCCESS, AND POST-SECONDARY SUCCESS- FACULTY, STAFF AND STUDENT LEADER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT- NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR FACULTY SCHOLARSHIP AND STUDENT LEADERSHIP- ADVOCACY, PUBLIC POLICY AND NATIONAL PARTNERSHIPSIN SEPTEMBER 2016, THE GOVERNING BOARDS OF CONNECTICUT, RHODE ISLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS CAMPUS COMPACTS VOTED TO MERGE THE THREE STATES INTO A REGIONAL COMPACT FOR SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND (SEE NOTE 6 TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS). THE ORGANIZATION COMPLETED THE TRANSFER OF EMPLOYEES AND OPERATIONS JULY 1, 2017.
