MACP'S STATED MISSION IS TO PROMOTE JOB STABILIZATION AND GROWTH ACROSS THE FULL SPECTRUM OF BUSINESS, AND WITHIN ALL GEOGRAPHIC REGIONS OF THE COMMONWEALTH THROUGH WORKING IN PARTNERSHIP WITH BUSINESS AND GOVERNMENT. MACP'S MAIN PRIORITY AREAS ARE: DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION, ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS, EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, ENERGY AND CLIMATE, INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY, INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND MARKETING, AND TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE.

SINCE ITS FORMATION IN FEBRUARY 2010, MACP'S MAIN INITIATIVES ARE: SUPPORTING INTERNATIONAL TRADE AND MARKETING OF THE COMMONWEALTH; REDUCING THE COST OF ENERGY IN MASSACHUSETTS; ADDRESSING THE COST OF GOVERNMENT IN THE STATE; ADVOCATING FOR ALIGNMENT BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY COLLEGE SYSTEM AND WORKFORCE NEEDS; ADDRESSING THE ISSUES SURROUNDING WOMEN IN THE WORKFORCE; SUPPORTING THE TECHNOLOGY INNOVATION ECONOMY OF MASSACHUSETTS; AND PROVIDING SUPPORT FOR THE FUTURE OF THE COMMONWEALTH'S SURFACE TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEM.
TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE: THE TRANSPORTATION AND INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE'S GOAL IS TO ENSURE THAT MASSACHUSETTS HAS AN EFFECTIVE, RESILIENT AND SUSTAINABLE TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM. THE COMMITTEE SUPPORTS EFFORTS TO CREATE A MORE RESILIENT TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM THAT ENHANCES MA SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS. THE COMMITTEE'S WORK ALSO INCLUDES ADVOCACY FOR STATE, FEDERAL AND PRIVATE FUNDING, POLICIES AND PROGRAMS THAT SUPPORT THE STATE'S PHYSICAL AND ORGANIZATIONAL ABILITY TO DELIVER THE HIGHEST-QUALITY TRANSPORTATION SYSTEM POSSIBLE. THE COMMITTEE PRIORITIZES EFFORTS AIMED AT MOVING PEOPLE, GOODS, AND INFORMATION MORE EFFICIENTLY WHILE PROVIDING FOR GREATER ACCESSIBILITY TO SERVICES AND OPPORTUNITIES, INCLUDING SUPPORTS FOR EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES.
DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION:A STRONG ECONOMY RELIES ON PARTICIPATION FROM ALL GROUPS, AND IT IS IMPERATIVE TO ENSURE THAT THOSE FROM UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE, AND ARE SUPPORTED IN ENGAGING, IN THE WORKFORCE AND PARTICULARLY IN LEADERSHIP. THE DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION COMMITTEE WORKS TO PROMOTE INITIATIVES THAT REMOVE BARRIERS AND PROVIDE GREATER OPPORTUNITY FOR INDIVIDUALS FROM UNDERREPRESENTED GROUPS, PARTICULARLY PEOPLE OF COLOR, TO ACHIEVE THEIR FULLEST POTENTIAL. LIKEWISE, THE COMMITTEE IS FOCUSED ON ELEVATING THE PARTICIPATION AND LEADERSHIP OF WOMEN IN THE WORKFORCE, IN START-UPS AND SMALL BUSINESSES, AND IN C-SUITES AND BOARD ROOMS. THE COMMITTEE WORKS TO ENCOURAGE A MORE INCLUSIVE, ENGAGED, AND INFORMED DISCOURSE THAT LEADS TO BETTER PUBLIC POLICY, AND A STRONGER MASSACHUSETTS.
EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT:THE EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE'S GOAL IS TO ENHANCE MASSACHUSETTS' POSITION AS #1 IN EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. THE COMMITTEE AIMS TO HELP STRENGTHEN THE COMMONWEALTH'S PUBLIC EDUCATION SYSTEM, INCLUDING EARLY EDUCATION, K-12, AND EARLY COLLEGE BY SUPPORTING POLICIES AND PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE INNOVATIVE APPROACHES AND BEST PRACTICES. THE COMMITTEE ALSO WORKS TO BOLSTER COLLEGE & CAREER READINESS BY FACILITATING PARTNERSHIPS BETWEEN TRAINERS AND EMPLOYERS TO ENSURE ALIGNMENT BETWEEN CURRICULUM AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT WITH INDUSTRY NEEDS -- LOCALLY AND REGIONALLY. ADDITIONALLY, THE COMMITTEE IS FOCUSED ON TALENT RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION TO ENSURE THAT MASSACHUSETTS IS A PLACE THAT WELCOMES AND SUPPORTS THE WORLD'S TOP TALENT.
