Organizations Filed Purposes:
PEJE BELIEVES THAT DAY SCHOOLS ARE ESSENTIAL FOR FOSTERING AN ENGAGED JEWISH PEOPLE FOR AN ENDURING JEWISH FUTURE. TO FLOURISH, JEWISH DAY SCHOOLS MUST BE DESTINATIONS OF CHOICE FOR STUDENTS, FAMILIES, AND PHILANTHROPIC INVESTMENT.
COACHING, KNOWLEDGE, AND COLLABORATIONS - AS A LEADER IN THE FIELD OF JEWISH DAY SCHOOL EDUCATION, PEJE LEVERAGED ITS RELATIONSHIPS TO BUILD PARTNERSHIPS AND COLLABORATIONS THAT BENEFITED SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITIES. THESE INCLUDED A PARTNERSHIP WITH JDATA, A CENTRAL REPOSITORY OF DATA RELATED TO JEWISH DAY SCHOOLS AND CAMPS; COLLABORATION WITH THE DENOMINATIONAL NETWORKS SERVING JEWISH DAY SCHOOLS IN ORDER TO OFFER JOINT CONFERENCES; AND PARTNERSHIPS WITH A NUMBER OF COMMUNITIES IN NORTH AMERICA TO OFFER SUSTAINABILITY INITIATIVES TO THEIR SCHOOLS. COACHING IS A CORE ELEMENT OF ALL OUR PROGRAMS, AND COACHES WHO CAN BENEFIT DAY SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY WERE IDENTIFIED, VETTED, AND DEPLOYED TO THE FIELD THROUGH OUR PROGRAMS. WE ALSO HOSTED A LEADERSHIP LINE, A NO-COST, ONE-HOUR CONSULTATION WITH A PEJE COACH. WE GATHERED AND DISSEMINATED KNOWLEDGE OF BEST PRACTICES THROUGH PROGRAMS FOR SELECTED SCHOOLS; COMMUNITIES OF PRACTICE FOR ADMISSION AND DEVELOPMENT PROFESSIONALS; THE NORTH AMERICAN JEWISH DAY SCHOOL CONFERENCE; OUR WEBSITE; AND SOCIAL MEDIA.
ENDOWMENT AND LEGACY - GENERATIONS IS A PILOT PROGRAM TO HELP DAY SCHOOLS RAISE ENDOWMENT AND LEGACY FUNDS. GENERATIONS IS A PARTNERSHIP OF PEJE, THE AVI CHAI FOUNDATION, AND LOCAL COMMUNITIES FOR THREE-YEAR PROGRAMS IN LOS ANGELES, BALTIMORE, NEW YORK, AND BOSTON. PEJE WORKED WITH EACH COMMUNITY TO SUPPORT AND OVERSEE PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS. PEJE PROVIDED OVERALL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT, TRAININGS, COACHING OVERSIGHT, AND INCENTIVE GRANTS. THE GOAL IS FOR SCHOOLS TO RAISE $4,000 PER STUDENT BY THE END OF THE PROGRAM. BASED ON THE SUCCESS OF THE PILOT PROGRAM, THE AVI CHAI FOUNDATION GAVE PEJE A NEW GRANT IN 2015 TO EXPAND THE GENERATIONS PROGRAM. PEJE LAUNCHED GENERATIONS NATIONAL IN 2015 FOR A NEW COHORT OF SELECTED, INDIVIDUAL SCHOOLS FROM ACROSS NORTH AMERICA AND LAUNCHED A THIRD COHORT OF SCHOOLS WITH BUILDERS OF JEWISH EDUCATION, OUR COMMUNITY PARTNER IN LOS ANGELES. THE NEW GRANT ALSO ENABLED PEJE TO UNDERTAKE RECRUITMENT AND SELECTION FOR ANOTHER COHORT OF GENERATIONS NATIONAL SCHOOLS.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES - ANNUAL CAMPAIGN AND RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION -PEJE SUPPORTED THE CAUSE OF JEWISH DAY SCHOOL SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH ANUMBER OF MULTI-SCHOOL INITIATIVES DESIGNED TO HELP SCHOOLS GENERATEINCREMENTAL TUITION AND FUNDRAISING REVENUES. PEJE IMPLEMENTED THE 18-MONTH ATIDENU RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION PROGRAM WITH MATCHING ENROLLMENT FUNDS BY THE AVI CHAI FOUNDATION WITH 26 NORTH AMERICAN DAY SCHOOLS. THE FOCUS OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO INCREASE ENROLLMENT IN ENTRY GRADES BY TEN PERCENT THE YEAR FOLLOWING PROGRAM COMPLETION. PEJE ALSO IMPLEMENTED THE 18-MONTH GOVERNANCE & FUNDRAISING ACADEMY, CO-FUNDED BY THE AVI CHAI FOUNDATION AND AN ANONYMOUS GENEROUS JEWISH DAY SCHOOL SUPPORTER, IN 11 NORTH AMERICAN SCHOOLS. THIS PROGRAM'S OBJECTIVE IS TO INCREASE ANNUAL FUNDRAISING BY IMPROVING BOARD GOVERNANCE AND FUNDRAISING SKILLS, SPECIFICALLY BY INCREASING ANNUAL FUNDRAISING BY TEN PERCENT THE YEAR FOLLOWING PROGRAM COMPLETION. SEVEN SMALL SCHOOLS IN SMALL COMMUNITIES THAT ARE PARTICIPATING IN THE GOVERNANCE & FUNDRAISING ACADEMY WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR UP TO $100,000 IN MATCHING FUNDS FOLLOWING MONTH TWELVE OF THE PROGRAM, SUPPORTED BY A SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT FROM A GENEROUS ANONYMOUS FUNDER.
