Organizations Filed Purposes: TO PROMOTE THE PRACTICE AND EXPANSION OF EFFECTIVE AND RESPONSIBLE PHILANTHROPY.

SUMMER FUND: A 49 YEAR OLD DONOR COLLABORATIVE SUPPORTING SUMMER CAMPS AND PROGRAMS FOR DISADVANTAGED AND AT-RISK YOUTH COMMUNITIES IN GREATER BOSTON. THE SUMMER FUND SUPPORTED OVER 50 NONPROFITS OPERATING OVER 100 SUMMER CAMP AND PROGRAM SITES. IN 2019 OVER 19,000 YOUTHS ATTENDED THESE SUMMER CAMPS AND PROGRAMS. PHILANTHROPY MASSACHUSETTS PARTNERED WITH 25 ARTS, CULTURAL AND HISTORICAL ASSOCIATIONS TO GIVE OVER 11,000 YOUTHS FREE FIELD TRIPS THROUGH CULTURAL EVENTS. THE HOMELESS CAMPERSHIP FUND, TARGETING FAMILIES IN HOMELESS SHELTERS AND THOSE FACING HOUSING SHORTAGES, SUPPORTED OVER 1400 WEEKS OF FREE SUMMER CAMP SLOTS. THE TEEN LEADERSHIP INSTITUTE TRAINED OVER 140 HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS FOR SUMMER JOB OPPORTUNITIES AT A SUMMER FUND CAMP OR YOUTH SERVING NONPROFIT.

MEMBER AND GRANT MAKER SERVICES: DURING 2019, PHILANTHROPY MASSACHUSETTS PROVIDED ITS GRANT MAKING MEMBERS AND THE FUNDING COMMUNITY WITH A DIVERSE RANGE OF PROGRAM OFFERINGS COVERING MULTIPLE TOPICS AND REGIONS ONSITE AND ONLINE. OVER 1,000 PARTICIPANTS ATTENDED PROGRAMS ON TOPICS INCLUDING: PHILANTHROPY 101, MA ARTS FUNDERS NETWORK, PROGRAM STAFF LEARNING NETWORK, CFO NETWORK, AND FAMILY FOUNDATION LUNCHEONS. THE RESOURCE CENTER CONTINUED TO PROVIDE CUSTOMIZED RESEARCH FOR GRANT MAKER MEMBERS.

NONPROFIT PARTNER SERVICES: PHILANTHROPY MASSACHUSETTS HAS OVER 500 GRANT SEEKING PARTNERS, NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS AND CONSULTANTS. PHILANTHROPY MASSACHUSETTS BRIDGES THE NONPROFIT AND GRANTMAKING COMMUNITIES BY GIVING ACCESS TO RESEARCH AND INFORMATION TO SUPPORT FUND DEVELOPMENT, PROVIDING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT AND NETWORKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR NONPROFIT STAFF MEMBERS. SOME OF THE PROGRAMS PRESENTED INCLUDE MEET-THE-DONORS AND SKILL-BUILDING WORKSHOPS IN GRANT RESEARCH, GRANT WRITING, EVALUATION AND DONOR CULTIVATION. THE RESOURCE CENTER PROVIDES ACCESS TO DATABASES FOR GRANT RESEARCH AS WELL AS ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING ON RESEARCH. CUSTOMIZED RESEARCH IS PROVIDED BY THE RESOURCE CENTER TO PARTNERS AT THE FELLOW LEVEL.
