Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MISSION OF HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CAPE COD IS TO BUILD HOMES, HOPE, LIVES AND COMMUNITY ON CAPE COD IN PARTNERSHIP WITH FAMILIES IN NEED.
DURING FISCAL YEAR 2020, HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CAPE COD COMPLETED VOLUNTEER-CONSTRUCTION, AND SOLD FOUR (4) HOMES IN THE TOWNS OF DENNIS, AND BREWSTER, EACH AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE TO A LOW INCOME FAMILY WITH CRITICAL HOUSING NEEDS. EACH HOME IS DEED RESTRICTED IN PERPETUITY TO REMAIN AFFORDABLE UPON ANY RESALE. AS WELL, WITH OUR MANY ENERGY SAVING MEASURES AND SOLAR PANELS, ALL HOMES ACHIEVED A NET-ZERO, OR CLOSE-TO-ZERO "HERS" RATING, I.E. VERY ENERGY EFFICIENT, WITH LOW COST FOR UTILITIES FOR NEW OWNERS. ADDITIONALLY, BY THE END OF THE FISCAL YEAR WE WERE WELL INTO CONSTRUCTION ON NINE (9) HOMES IN THE TOWNS OF MASHPEE, WELLFLEET AND BREWSTER. MEANWHILE, THE ORGANIZATION ALSO FOCUSED ON EARLY PHASES OF CONSTRUCTION - SITE WORK AND FOUNDATIONS - FOR MORE HOMES IN ORLEANS AND MASHPEE TO BE BUILT IN FISCAL YEAR 2021. WE ALSO UNDERTOOK PERMITTING AND INFRASTRUCTURE WORK FOR LARGER SUBDIVISIONS IN HARWICH AND FALMOUTH. LAND ACQUISITION AND PERMITTING ACTIVITIES WERE ONGOING TOWARDS FUTURE PROJECTS IN OTHER TOWNS. WE WERE SLOWED BUT NOT STOPPED BY THE ARRIVAL OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC. OUR FALMOUTH AND YARMOUTH RESTORES WERE CLOSED FOR 10 WEEKS AND SEVERAL MODIFICATIONS WERE MADE TO OUR WORK-SITES. THE RECEIPT OF PPP FUNDS WAS A BLESSING AND SUPPORTED OUR ORGANIZATION DURING THE SHUTDOWN. UPON REOPENING THE RESTORES PERFORMED BEYOND EXPECTATIONS AND IMMEDIATELY BEGAN RAISING SIGNIFICANT FUNDS FOR THE WORK OF HABITAT, WHILE ALSO PROMOTING OUR MISSION, AND ENGAGING EVEN MORE COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS. HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF CAPE COD, INC. CONTINUES TO SUSTAIN ITS PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY IMPACT THROUGH A VERY DIVERSE COMMUNITY-BASED FUNDRAISING STRATEGY, AND WITH THE ENERGETIC INVOLVEMENT OF MANY HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS, WHO GENEROUSLY DEDICATE THEIR TIME AND DIVERSE TALENTS TO FURTHERING OUR MISSION.
