SERVES THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE EACH YEAR DELIVERING A WIDE RANGE OF SERVICES THROUGHOUT EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. THAT IS OUR FOCUS PROVIDING INNOVATIVE CARE WITH THE UTMOST SKILL, COMPASSION AND RESPECT. ESTABLISHED IN 1981 AS HOSPICE OF CAPE COD, WE WERE ONE OF THE NATION'S PIONEER PROGRAMS. TODAY AS HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS, HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS' FAMILY OF SERVICES IN MASSACHUSETTS INCLUDES HOPE HOSPICE, HOPE CARE FOR KIDS, HOPE DEMENTIA & ALZHEIMER'S SERVICES AND HOPE ACADEMY. THE MASSACHUSETTS PAIN INITIATIVE IS AN AFFILIATE OF THE ORGANIZATIONAS A LEADER IN END-OF-LIFE CARE, HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS PROVIDES SERVICES WHEREVER A PERSON CALLS HOME. IT ENHANCES THE COMFORT AND QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PATIENTS AND FAMILIES EXPERIENCING THE IMPACT OF SERIOUS ILLNESS AND LOSS. TO FULFILL THE ORGANIZATION MISSION, THE ORGANIZATION ADHERES TO THE BROADEST POSSIBLE ADMISSION CRITERIA POSSIBLE, SERVING ALL WHO ARE ELIGIBLE REGARDLESS OF THE COMPLEXITY OF CARE NEEDS. WE CALL THIS OUR OPEN DOOR PHILOSOPHY. THIS MEANS THAT WE OFTEN ASSUME FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR COSTLY THERAPIES AND TREATMENTS FOR WHICH WE ARE NOT FULLY REIMBURSED BY INSURANCE PROVIDERS. TO HELP DEFRAY THESE INCREASED COSTS, WE DEPEND UPON THE GENEROSITY OF OUR DONORS IN THE COMMUNITY.HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS ALSO OWNS AND OPERATES A HOSPICE IN-PATIENT FACILITY, MCCARTHY CARE CENTER, FOR CARE OF TERMINALLY ILL HOSPICE PATIENTS, PROVIDING SHORT-TERM ACUTE CARE FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT AND SYMPTOM STABILIZATION. AS PART OF ITS WE HONOR VETERAN'S PROGRAM, THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES EDUCATION TO STAFF AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS ON THE UNIQUE NEEDS OF VETERAN'S RECEIVING HOSPICE SERVICES. HOPE HOSPICE PROVIDED PINNING CEREMONIES TO VETERANS IN THEIR CARE AND CARED FOR VETERANS THROUGHOUT THEIR SERVICE AREA. PINNING CEREMONIES ACKNOWLEDGE THE MILITARY SERVICE AND SACRIFICES MADE BY THE VETERAN AND THEIR FAMILY. BY PAIRING VETERAN VOLUNTEERS WITH HOSPICE PATIENTS WHO ALSO HAVE MILITARY EXPERIENCE, THE VETERAN VOLUNTEERS HAVE THE UNIQUE ABILITY TO RELATE AND CONNECT WITH EACH PATIENT THEREBY CREATING AN ENVIRONMENT WHERE LIFE REVIEW AND HEALING MAY OCCUR. THE AGENCY HAS ADOPTED THE HIGHEST STANDARDS IN HOSPICE CARE, AS VALIDATED BY ITS ACCREDITATION FROM THE JOINT COMMISSION. ALTHOUGH WE HAVE GROWN OVER THE LAST FIVE YEARS AND WE ARE CARING FOR MORE THAN 250 PATIENTS AND FAMILIES PER DAY, THERE ARE MANY MORE WHO ARE ELIGIBLE FOR OUR SERVICES BUT ARE NOT YET IN OUR CARE. DONOR AND COMMUNITY SUPPORT ENSURES OUR ABILITY TO CONTINUE THESE CRITICAL OUTREACH ACTIVITIES.HOPE DEMENTIA & ALZHEIMER'S SERVICES PROVIDES INFORMATION, EDUCATION AND SUPPORT FOR PEOPLE WITH ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE OR A RELATED DEMENTIA AND THE FAMILIES AND PROFESSIONALS WHO CARE FOR THEM INCLUDING A TELEPHONE HELPLINE, EDUCATION, SUPPORT GROUPS, MEMORY SCREENINGS, DEMENTIA CERTIFICATION, ANNUAL CONFERENCES, AND INDIVIDUAL AND FAMILY CONSULTATIONS.HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS OFFERS A WIDE RANGE OF INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING AND SUPPORT SERVICES TO HELP PEOPLE COPE WITH GRIEF OR LOSS. COMMUNITY BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT GROUPS ARE HELD IN MANY TOWNS WITHIN OUR SERVICE AREA. WE ALSO OFFER PEDIATRIC PALLIATIVE CARE FOR CHILDREN WITH LIFE LIMITING ILLNESS AND THEIR FAMILIES AND PEDIATRIC HOSPICE CARE THROUGH HOPE CARE FOR KIDS. TO FULFILL HOPEHEALTH MASSACHUSETTS' MISSION TO SERVE ALL WHO ARE ELIGIBLE, WE ARE COMMITTED TO ONGOING OUTREACH, MARKETING AND EDUCATION. WE HAVE DEDICATED RESOURCES IN THE AREAS OF COMMUNITY MARKETING, CONSUMER AND PROFESSIONAL HEALTHCARE EDUCATION INCLUDING A SPEAKER'S BUREAU.
