Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MISSION OF THE BROOKLINE TEEN CENTER (BTC) IS TO PROVIDE A SAFE, ENJOYABLE ENVIRONMENT WHERE TEENAGERS CAN ENGAGE IN CONSTRUCTIVE, EDUCATIONAL AND LEISURE ACTIVITIES. THE BTC STRIVES TO DEVELOP AND EMPOWER DIVERSE LEADERS WHO WILL ENRICH THE BROOKLINE COMMUNITY.

THE BROOKLINE TEEN CENTER IS OPEN AS A DROP-IN CENTER SIX DAYS PER WEEK BUT IS OFTEN UTILIZED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FOR ORGANIZED PROGRAMMING, COMMUNITY GATHERINGS AND PRIVATE EVENTS. THE BTC SERVES YOUTH FROM SIXTH GRADE THROUGH GRADUATION FROM HIGH SCHOOL, PROVIDING A SAFE AND SUPERVISED VENUE FOR YOUTH TO SOCIALIZE, ENGAGE IN RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND DEVELOP LEADERSHIP SKILLS AS WELL AS OFFERING MANY DIFFERENT PROGRAMMING OPPORTUNITIES. MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS ARE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THE FULL RANGE OF OFFERINGS AT THE BTC ON MONDAYS AND THEN ARE ABLE TO SIGN UP FOR SPECIFIC MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAMS ON OTHER DAYS DURING THE WEEK. THE BTC SERVES HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TUESDAY THROUGH SATURDAY EACH WEEK. EXAMPLES OF PROGRAMMING ARE WEIGHT TRAINING, ENGINEERING CLASSES, MUSIC PRODUCTION CLASSES, COOKING, GARDENING, SOFT SKILLS TRAINING, SOCIAL ACTIVISM AND BASKETBALL SKILLS. ADDITIONALLY, THE BTC OFFERS OPPORTUNITIES FOR STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN INDEPENDENT LEARNING PROJECTS WITHIN OUR NEW MAKER SPACE OR BY CREATING THEIR OWN EVENTS TO BE HELD AT THE BTC. THE BTC ALSO EMPLOYS TEENS IN A NUMBER OF DIFFERENT CAPACITIES WITHIN THE CENTER. THE BTC HAS GROWN IN THE PAST FOUR YEARS AND NOT ONLY SERVES BROOKLINE'S YOUTH BUT HAS ALSO BECOME AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE COMMUNITY BY HOSTING MANY GROUPS FOR EVENTS, GATHERINGS AND MEETINGS IN ITS AWARD-WINNING SPACE.
