Organizations Filed Purposes: The Jewish Womens Archive documents Jewish womens stories, elevates their voices, and inspires them to be agents of change.

The Jewish Womens Archive is a national organization dedicated to collecting and promoting the extraordinary stories of Jewish women. JWA explores the past as a framework for understanding the issues important to women today; inspires young people with remarkable role models; and uses Jewish womens stories to excite people to see themselves as agents of change.

In reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic, JWA launched a slew of virtual programs that engage a global online community in conversations with writers, artists, and scholars. This year, JWA bolstered our Story Aperture story-collecting program with campaigns to collect stories on topics such as quarantine and voting experiences, inviting the public to help document and reflect on significant moments in history as they happen. JWA has continued to expand the programming we offer our national teen leadership program, the Rising Voices Fellowship, and to deepen alumnae programming for the community of more than 100 graduates who serve as thought leaders in their own communities and beyond. We are currently in the midst of a major revision and expansion of JWAs online Encyclopedia of Jewish Women, working with an editorial board of 60 scholars around the world to update the Encyclopedia, add new scholarship, and refresh the design and navigation.
