MECA collaborated with NFPA to publish and distribute the 2020 Codebooks, including attaching the Massachusetts amendments to the front of the code books.MECA works with the printer to establish printing details, printing costs and shipping arrangements. Once received, MECA follows a detailed schedule to distribute the books to vendors and continue to sell the books to members and non-members.
Provides services to about 225 members--offering insurance, publishing a semiannual newsletter sent to 379 recipients on the industry and association, printing an annual directory of all members and networking opportunities at the monthly regional meetings and the annual meeting. During the pandemic, MECA was especially resourceful in keeping members up to date with CDC guidelines and government protocols in regards to PPP loans, unemployment and all necessary resources needed to assist member businesses.
One of MECA's primary responsibilities is to track regulations that effect the electrician's trade and track trends to protect business and right to work. MECA worked diligently on several House bills that relate to the electrical industry. MECA worked in partnership with other organizations and Associations in order to collaborate critical changes in numerous House and Senate Bills.
