Organizations Filed Purposes: TO MEET THE EVOLVING NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITIES AND OUR DONORS BY RAISING FUNDS AND GIVING RESPONSIBLY TO A BROAD RANGE OF HUMAN SERVICE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS THAT STRENGTHEN CONCORD AND CARLISLE.

GIVING TO A BROAD RANGE OF HUMAN SERVICE AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN CONCORD AND CARLISLE, MASSACHUSETTS.

OUR COMMUNITY ROSE TO THE OCCASION WITH THE ONSET OF SHUTTING DOWN IN MARCH AND IMMEDIATELY THOUGHT ABOUT THOSE WHO WERE STRUGGLING AND IN NEED OF HELP. THE COMMUNITY CHEST GREW OUR EMERGENCY FUND, THE WHEN IN NEED (WIN) FUND, TO RESPOND TO THE GROWING NEEDS THAT WOULD RESULT FROM THE PANDEMIC. GRANTS FROM WIN FUNDS ARE DISPERSED WHEN THE NEED IS IDENTIFIED AND EMERGENT, AND MAY BE CARRIED OVER INTO SUBSEQUENT YEARS. THE COMMUNITY SUPPORTED THIS FUND THROUGH THE DRIVEWAY PROJECT INITIATIVE AND OTHER FUNDRAISING EFFORTS TO RAISE OVER $82,000. EXPENSES WERE MOSTLY VOLUNTEER RUN AND COST THE ORGANIZATION ABOUT $565.

THE COMMUNITY CHEST'S MISSION IS TO ENGAGE THE COMMUNITY TO HELP NEIGHBORS IN NEED. AN IMPORTANT PART OF THE CONCORD AND CARLISLE COMMUNITY ARE OUR BUSINESSES. THEY HELP TO CREATE A VIBRANT DOWNTOWN, MANY OF WHICH HAVE BEEN A STAPLE OF THE AREA FOR DECADES. IN COLLABORATION WITH A VOLUNTEER RUN GROUP, CONCORD TOGETHER, THE COMMUNITY CHEST ESTABLISHED THE CONCORD TOGETHER BUSINESS FUND AS A SHORT TERM EMERGENCY RELIEF GRANT PROGRAM TO HELP OUR LOCAL BUSINESSES. OVER $215,000 IN FUNDS WERE RAISED AND WE ARE STILL GRANTING MONIES INTO THE 2020-2021 FISCAL YEAR. NO EXPENSES WERE INCURRED DURING 2019-2020 FOR THIS PROGRAM.

EVERY YEAR THE COMMUNITY CHEST RAISES FUNDS TO SUPPORT LOCAL HUMAN SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS AND PROGRAMS HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS IN NEED. THIS YEAR WITH THE PANDEMIC LEAVING MANY ISOLATED, LOSING JOBS, AND WITHOUT BASIC NEEDS, THE CHEST DECIDED TO FOCUS PRIMARILY ON ALLOCATING RESOURCES TO CRITICAL AND ESSENTIAL SUPPORT. OUR ANNUAL CAMPAIGN ENDS IN APRIL AND THEREFORE ANY UNRESTRICTED DONATIONS RECEIVED PRIOR TO APRIL 30 ARE APPLIED TO THE GRANT APPLICATIONS. ANY SUBSEQUENT DONATIONS BEFORE THE JUNE FISCAL YEAR END MAY BE APPLIED TO THE FOLLOWING YEAR'S GRANT POOL. THE CHEST DONATED $459,165 TO 23 ORGANIZATIONS PROVIDING THESE ESSENTIAL SERVICES. FUNDRAISING AND EVENT EXPENSES, APPROXIMATING $33,191, SUPPORTED ACCOMPLISHMENT OF THIS GOAL.
