Organizations Filed Purposes: HELPING PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES BECOME FULL PARTICIPANTS IN THE COMMUNITY; CHOOSING FOR THEMSELVES HOW TO LIVE, LEARN, WORK, SOCIALIZE AND PLAY. NEARC'S SERVICE SCOPE AND THE DEMOGRAPHIC AREA HAVE EXPANDED SIGNIFICANTLY OVER THE PAST SIX DECADES. THE AGENCY CURRENTLY IMPACTS MORE THAN 15,000 PEOPLE ANNUALLY, SERVING INDIVIDUALS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL, INTELLECTUAL AND PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AND THEIR FAMILIES IN 190 COMMUNITIES IN EASTERN MASSACHUSETTS. NEARC PROVIDES OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES TO ATTEND PUBLIC SCHOOLS, DEVELOP FRIENDSHIPS, RESIDE IN THE NEIGHBORHOODS OF THEIR CHOICE, AND TO EARN A PAYCHECK. NORTHEAST ARC IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PROGRAMMATIC DIVISIONS: FAMILY SUPPORT, RESIDENTIAL, AND DAY SERVICES. WITHIN EACH DIVISION ARE UNIQUE PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE A BROAD SCOPE OF SERVICES, SUPPORTS, ADVOCACY, INFORMATION AND REFERRALS THAT ARE RESPONSIVE TO THE NEEDS OF THE INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES SERVED.

HELPS ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES, INCL ASD, BECOME FULL PARTICIPANTS IN THE COMMUNITY.

RESIDENTIAL SERVICES - NORTHEAST ARC HAS BEEN PROVIDING RESIDENTIAL SERVICES FOR OVER 40 YEARS. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES ARE PROVIDED TO OVER 100 PEOPLE IN 26 HOMES, LOCATED ACROSS MORE THAN 10 COMMUNITIES ON THE NORTH SHORE AND IN BURLINGTON, MA. SERVICES ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO APPROXIMATELY 16 PEOPLE IN SHARED LIVING PLACEMENTS AND 16 PEOPLE IN INDEPENDENT LIVING SETTINGS. RESIDENTIAL SERVICES PROVIDED INCLUDE SUPERVISED LIVING, SUPPORTED LIVING, SPECIALTY SERVICES AND SUPPORTS, DEAF SERVICES, INTENSIVE MEDICAL SERVICES, TRAINING AND CONSULTATION, NURSING CASE MANAGEMENT AND SPECIALIZED HEALTH COORDINATION. THE UNIFYING THEME ACROSS RESIDENTIAL SERVICES IS SUPPORTING PEOPLE IN BEING ENGAGED MEMBERS OF THEIR COMMUNITIES AND HAVING CHOICE AND CONTROL IN THEIR OWN LIVES.

CLINICAL SERVICES - PROVIDES MEDICAID/MEDICARE CERTIFIED HOME HEALTH CARE TO MEDICALLY FRAGILE INDIVIDUALS IN TWO PRIMARY PROGRAMS: CONTINUOUS CARE NURSING SKILLED INTERMITTENT CARE. THIS IS AVAILABLE UP TO 24 HOURS PER DAY, 365 DAYS PER YEAR) TO MEDICALLY COMPLEX CHILDREN AND ADULTS TO HELP THEM ACHIEVE OPTIMUM HEALTH AND WELLNESS. THROUGHOUT 2020, 240 NURSES AND THREE ALLIED HEALTH PROFESSIONALS PROVIDED MORE THAN 250,000 HOURS OF SUPPORT TO PATIENTS IN THEIR HOMES IN OVER 100 MASSACHUSETTS CITIES AND TOWNS.

FAMILY SERVICES - NORTHEAST ARC PROVIDES A VARIETY OF SERVICES DESIGNED TO SUPPORT FAMILIES OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS WITH DISABILITIES. THESE SERVICES CONSIST OF TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE, EDUCATION, AUTISM ABA SPECIALTY SERVICES, RECREATION, AND THREE SPECIFIC RESOURCE AND SUPPORT CENTERS. THE FOLLOWING PROGRAMS ARE INCLUDED IN FAMILY SERVICES: AUTISM SUPPORT CENTER, ADULT AUTISM SUPPORT CENTER, FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CENTER, AUTISM ABA SPECIALTY SERVICES, RECREATION, INDIVIDUALIZED LIVING OPTIONS, ADVOCACY.THE AUTISM SUPPORT CENTER (NORTHEAST REGIONAL) - REFERRALS, SUPPORT GROUPS AND TRAINING TO PARENTS, INDIVIDUALS AND PROFESSIONALS INTERESTED IN AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS FOR FAMILIES AND CHILDREN.THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER (NORTH SHORE AREA) - PROVIDES INFORMATION AND/OR REFERRALS TO FACILITATE ACCESS TO COMMUNITY RESOURCES OR ARRANGE FOR RESPITE CARE. THE GOAL IS TO HELP FAMILIES IDENTIFY WHAT IS NEEDED TO MAINTAIN THE INTEGRITY OF THEIR FAMILY, TO DECREASE OR ALLEVIATE STRESS AND TO PARTICIPATE FULLY IN THEIR COMMUNITIES.ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY CENTER - PROVIDES TECHNOLOGY RESOURCES AND A SPACE TO COME TEST OUT AND BORROW SOME OF THE NEWEST SMART HOME AND DISABILITY SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS AND DEVICES ON THE MARKET. AUTISM ABA SPECIALTY SERVICES - PROVIDES AN INTENSIVE PROGRAM OF EVALUATION, IN-HOME THERAPIES AND PARENT TRAINING FOR INDIVIDUALS OF ANY AGE DIAGNOSED WITH AUTISM SPECTRUM DISORDERS. ABA SERVICE EMPLOY ONE-TO-ONE INTERVENTION TECHNIQUES TO ENHANCE DEVELOPMENT IN THE AREAS THAT ARE MOST CHALLENGING FOR INDIVIDUALS WITH THE ASD DIAGNOSIS: SOCIAL INTERACTION, COMMUNICATION AND PLAY. PROGRAMS INCLUDE BUILDING BLOCKS (0-3 IN HOME), BUILDING BRIDGES (3+ IN HOME), THE LEARNING CENTER (3 - 7 IN CLINIC), AND SPOTLIGHT (3 - 22 IN COMMUNITY GROUPS).RECREATION - PROVIDES A WIDE RANGE OF YEAR-ROUND ACTIVITIES FOR BOTH CHILDREN AND ADULTS, INCLUDING AFTERNOON AND EVENING SOCIAL AND LEISURE EVENTS, SPORTS, CLASSES AND OUTINGS.INDIVIDUALIZED LIVING OPTIONS - PROVIDES ADULT FAMILY CARE AND INDIVIDUALIZED LIVING ARRANGEMENTS FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES. THESE ARRANGEMENTS ALLOW INDIVIDUALS TO SHARE HOMES WITH FAMILIES WHO PROVIDE CARE, COMPANIONSHIP, SKILLS INSTRUCTION AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT.ADVOCACY - OFFERS INFORMATIONAL WORKSHOPS AND PERSONALIZED CONSULTATION TO PARENTS TO ENSURE THAT THEIR CHILDREN RECEIVE THE QUALITY EDUCATIONAL SERVICES THEY NEED IN ORDER TO THRIVE.
