BOSTON POLICE ACTIVITIES LEAGUE (PAL) FOSTERS A CULTURE OF TRUST AND RESPECT BETWEEN THE COMMUNITY AND THE BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT THROUGH PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT, IMPROVE EDUCATIONAL OUTCOMES, AND REDUCE CRIME.

PAL CURRENTLY SUPPORTS OVER 40 PROGRAMS, AS WELL AS VARIOUS ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS CITYWIDE.
PAL SUPPORTS A BROAD ARRAY OF PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES THAT CREATE THE OPPORTUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY, CHILDREN/YOUTH AND BOSTON POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICERS TO INTERACT IN A POSITIVE AND CONSTRUCTIVE MANNER. THIS ENGAGEMENT CULTIVATES RELATIONSHIPS BASED ON TRUST AND RESPECT WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF CREATING A SAFE ENVIRONMENT THAT AFFORDS ALL CITIZENRY THE OPPORTUNITY TO FLOURISH. THREE OF PAL'S FEATURED PROGRAMS ARE WOMEN IN BLUE, WE BELONG AND JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY. ADDITIONAL PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES INCLUDE: (1)YOUTH ENGAGEMENT, DEVELOPMENT, EDUCATION, LEADERSHIP, EMPLOYMENT AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS, (2) GIRL'S SOCIAL, SAFETY, SELF-ESTEEM AND EMPOWERMENT PROGRAMS, (3) YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS AND PEER ENGAGEMENT INITIATIVES, (4) SOCIAL JUSTICE INITIATIVES, (5) YOUTH DIALOGUE AND VICTIM SUPPORT PROGRAMS, (6) SCHOOL SAFETY, BULLYING, GANG AND FITNESS PROGRAMS, (7) YOUTH SPORTS/MUSIC/ART/SUMMER CAMPS AND CIVIC PROGRAMS, AND (8) SENIOR AND FAMILY SOCIAL EVENTS AND SUPPORT.
