THE ORGANIZATION IS COMMITTED TO PROVIDING AFFORDABLE MUSIC EDUCATION AND ALSO HAS BEEN ABLE TO PROVIDE $66,401 IN SCHOLARSHIP AID. THE ORGANIZATION NEEDED TO SUSPEND GROUP EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES AND ALSO SWITCH TO REMOTE PRIVATE LESSONS DUE TO COVID-19
THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS CENTERED ON THE PRINCIPLE THAT PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATION ARE FULLY INTEGRATED AND REPRESENT AN INTEGRAL PART OF THE ORGANIZATION'S MUSIC EDUCATION CURRICULUM. LISTENING TO, AND EVALUATING MUSIC AND MUSIC PERFORMANCE ARE KEY STANDARDS OF A COMPREHENSIVE, QUALITY MUSIC EDUCATION PROGRAM. THE ORGANIZATION'S PERFORMANCE PROGRAM SERVES 5,300 PEOPLE ANNUALLY AND INCLUDES THE PROFESSIONAL ORCHESTRA OF INDIAN HILL LED BY ARTISTIC DIRECTOR, BRUCE HANGEN. THE NUMBER OF EVENTS AND INDIVIDUALS SERVED WAS NEGATIVELY IMPACTED BY THE NEED TO SUSPEND IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING DUE TO COVID-19.
THE ORGANIZATION'S MUSIC PHILANTHROPY PROGRAM INCLUDES AFTER SCHOOL MUSIC LESSONS AND SCHOOL DAY PERFORMANCES IN LOW-INCOME COMMUNITIES, FREE MONTHLY BACH'S LUNCH CONCERTS THAT SERVED OVER 1,400 SENIOR CITIZENS, AND SINGING BY ITS THRESHOLD SINGERS FOR THOSE IN HOSPICE CARE. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AREA NONPROFIT CULTURAL AND SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, THE ORGANIZATION'S FACULTY AND STUDENT PERFORMERS PROVIDED MUSIC AT 16 EVENTS IN A VARIETY OF COMMUNITY SETTINGS. THE NUMBER OF EVENTS AND INDIVIDUALS SERVED WAS NEGATIVELY IMPACTED BY THE NEED TO SUSPEND IN-PERSON PROGRAMMING DUE TO COVID-19.
