Organizations Filed Purposes: To build a structurally sound and musically vital ensemble which seeks to explore and present music of the 20th century. All schools, movements and styles from the turn of the century to the present day will be offered. It is the practical aim of the Boston Modern Orchestra Project, Inc. (BMOP) to promote and support the performances of new compostions, unknown works, newly published editions, and seldom repeated works from the start of the 1900's. BMOP hopes to challenge, entertain, and educate its audiences by presenting a variety of concerts, lectures and activities comprised of music and related subjects from the 20th century.

To present, promote, and provide education in contemporary music and related fields. The Boston Modern Orchestra Project is widely recognized as the leading orchestra in the US dedicated exclusively to performing new music, and it's signature label, BMOP/Sound, is the nation's foremost label launched by an orchestra and solely devoted to new music recordings.

The Boston Modern Orchestra Project provides access to a full schedule of concerts and provides services and materials that otherwise would not be available to the general public. In its first twenty three seasons, BMOP established a track record that includes more than 100 performances, over 70 world premieres (including 30 commissioned works), two Opera Unlimited Festivals with Opera Boston, the Inaugural Ditson Festival of contemporary music with the ICA/Boston, and over 70 commercial recordings, including 58 CDs from BMOP.
