Contractual professional services of $16,936 largely related to hiring heavy equipment to improve a forest road in the Old Aucoot district to allow forestry to improve the envronmental habitat as recommended by forestry plan. Grant of $11,171 awarded to the Friends of the Mattapoisett Bike Path with whom we sponsor the Tour de Creme fundraiser annually encouraging people to engage in outdoor activities. All revenues and expenses are booked through the MLT and then the MLT splits the net proceeds with the Friends of the Bike Path. Production and distribution of our newsletter The Heron which mailed to approximately 400 homes and distributed free at events cost approx. $ 3,520. The Heron describes the activities of the MLT and tries to educate on locally relevant environmental issues. Other expenses for public events that are free to the public encouraging them to experience MLT properties.
$3,758 paid in Town property taxes for the 120 acres of land acquired on Oct. 3, 2019, in the Pine Island Pond Watershed Lands acquisition. This property will be classified as non-taxable in the Town's next fiscal year. Other legal expenses of $1,450, engineering expenses of $1000 and other miscellaneous expenses related to a future potential acquisition
