Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE AFFORDABLE GOODS TO THE COMMUNITY. THIS IS A SEASONAL FULL TIME SERVICE LED BY EFFICIENT AND DEDICATED MANAGEMENT AND VOLUNTEERS. THE STAFF IS RESPONSIBLE, RESPECTFUL AND PREPARED TO SERVE AND SUPPORT THE COMMUNITY OF NANTUCKET AND THE NANTUCKET COTTAGE HOSPITAL.
OPERATION OF A SEASONAL RESALE SHOP THAT SELLS DONATED USED CLOTHING AND MERCHANDISEIT WAS ANYTHING BUT "BUSINESS AS USUAL" FOR THE HOSPITAL THRIFT SHOP IN 2020. LIKE SO MANY OTHERS, THE HTS HAD TO REIMAGINE AND RECREATE THE WAY WE DID BUSINESS IN ORDER TO MOVE FORWARD DESPITE THE PANDEMIC. IN MAY, WE HAD A PLAN AND WE WERE EXECUTING IT. WE CREATED AN E-COMMERCE WEBSITE TO SELL DONATED GOODS AND WE HELD OUTDOOR DRIVEWAY SALES TWICE A WEEK. BOTH OPTIONS GAVE OUR CUSTOMERS AN INTERESTING VARIETY OF OUR INVENTORY TO PURCHASE.
