Organizations Filed Purposes:
Encourage and support the field of Science Fiction and Fantasy by holding meetings discussing it, holding conventions that include panels discussing it, the science inspiring it, art and media inspired by it and other relevant subjects, and also exhibiting such media, both art and video; by publishing works that have undeservedly gone out of print in library quality form as well as other forms; as well as conducting other activities that will also support this field.

Boskone is a New England regional SF&F convention that draws roughly 1000 attendees each year. It includes a multi-track program of panels, readings, video showings, and music performances all with science fiction or fantasy relevance. Other major components include a high quality art show, a dealers room, and a gaming area where card, board, and role-playing games are demonstrated and played with fantasy and science fiction themes (these do not involve gambling). Boskone 51 was held February 14-16, 2014.
NEGC1 was held September 22, 2014 at George Dilboy VFW Hall in Somerville, MA. This was NESFA's first attempt at a games event. It featured game authors with the current versions of their games as well as a schedule of tournaments and open gaming. As a first attempt with publicity and timing issues it was rated as worth further development. About 50 people attended.
511130 NESFA Press publishes books that have undeservedly gone out of print. It tracks down current holders of copyright, contracts for works to publish, finds good versions, edits and lays them out for book publication. It contacts artists and contracts for original or existing art for a cover, tracks down appropriate cover blurbs. It lays out the cover and text and produces a printer ready digital file appropriate for book publishing. It contracts with printers. In support of this activity The organization contracts with an order fulfillment and warehousing company and an online store managing company, and deals with wholesalers and retailers of books. Some of the costs and all the income are reported under Sale of Inventory, Part VIII, Line 10. However, There are other costs of sales: warehousing, fulfillment, internet store, credit processing &c. Ongoing projects for new books are accounted assets which will eventually become inventory.
