Organizations Filed Purposes: Engage in research, advocacy and organizing to show how incarceration policies undermineour communities and national well being.

Our mission is to use research, advocacy and organizing to show how over-criminalization and mass incarceration harm individuals and undermine our communities and the national well-being. This years publications offered a guide to reduce jail overcrowding without building new jails, analyzed probation and parole to uncover how the broader systems of correctional supervision are governing the lives of 4.5 million people in the U.S.; expose how police and jails are misused to respond to social problems like mental illness and drug use; provided a detailed view of the 231,000 women and girls who are incarcerated in the U.S.; and shined light on the predatory prison and jail telecommunications companies that seek to chare families of incarcerated people as much as $1 per minute for simple communication.Continued on Schedule O.
