THE ORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO EMPOWER ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL AND PURSUE THEIR DREAMS THROUGH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY LIVING. NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE OPERATED 4 TYPES OF PROGRAMS IN SUPPORT OF THIS MISSION IN 2020: RESIDENTIAL HOUSING, COMMUNITY BASED DAY SERVICES, EMPLOYMENT SUPPORTS AND DAY HABILITATION.
NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE'S MISSION IS TO EMPOWER ADULTS WITH INTELLECTUAL AND DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO REALIZE THEIR POTENTIAL AND PURSUE THEIR DREAMS THROUGH INNOVATIVE PROGRAMS AND COMMUNITY LIVING.
RESIDENTIAL HOUSING: NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE CURRENTLY OPERATES 17 HOMES, EACH UNIQUELY DESIGNED AND STAFFED TO SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUAL NEEDS OF EACH RESIDENT AS THEY ACQUIRE THE SKILLS NECESSARY TO GO FORTH INTO THE WORLD AND PURSUE THEIR DREAMS. ITS SPECIALIZED TEAM OF HIGHLY SKILLED AND DEDICATED HUMAN SERVICE PROFESSIONALS UNDERSTANDS THAT INDIVIDUAL CHOICE AND SELF-DETERMINATION ARE AT THE CORE OF ALL NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE SERVICES. THE ORGANIZATION IS COMMITED TO PROVIDING A CONTINUUM OF CARE, SO RESIDENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES CAN COUNT ON A LIFETIME OF SUPPORT IN A CARING COMMUNITY.
DAY HABILITATION PROGRAMS: KEEPING WITH ITS PHILOSOPHY OF PROVIDING A HIGHLY INDIVIDUALIZED APPROACH TO PROGRAMMING, NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE OFFERS DAY HABILITATION PROGRAMS AT TWO STATE-OF-THE-ART FACILITIES: THE EFRON CENTER FOR ENRICHMENT AND THE SOLLAR WELLNESS CENTER. HIGHLY INTERACTIVE, YET STRUCTURED OFFERINGS INVOLVE MEMBERS IN ACTIVITIES THAT ARE DESIGNED TO PROMOTE NEW SKILLS AND PERSONAL INTERESTS AND ARE CUSTOMIZED BASED UPON INDIVIDUAL LEARNING ABILITY AND SPECIFIC THERAPEUTIC GOALS.
COMMUNITY BASED DAY SERVICES: INDIVIDUALS NOT CURRENTLY WORKING FULL-TIME RECEIVE COMPLEMENTARY SUPPORTS IN NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE'S INTEGRATED COMMUNITY BASED DAY SERVICES (CBDS) PROGRAM, WHICH PROVIDES STRUCTURED PROGRAM SERVICES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THEIR WEEK. THE CBDS PROGRAM UTILIZES A PERSON-CENTERED APPROACH INCLUDING CAREER EXPLORATION/PLANNING TO SERVE AS A PATHWAY TO EMPLOYMENT THROUGH THE USE OF A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT VOLUNTEER AND DISCOVERY OPPORTUNITIES, SKILLS TRAINING, OR OTHER COMMUNITY-BASED EXPERIENCES. PROGRAM OFFERINGS ARE BASED UPON THE INTERESTS OF EACH INDIVIDUAL AND ARE ESTABLISHED ACCORDING TO A SHARED FOCUS AND VISION. RETIREMENT OPPORTUNITIES: FOR THOSE INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE FULLY OR PARTIALLY RETIRED FROM WORKING, NEW ENGLAND VILLAGE OFFERS ITS CBDS RETIREMENT PROGRAM. FOUNDED ON THE RECOGNITION THAT ALL HUMAN BEINGS HAVE THE NEED AND ABILITY TO FIND FULFILLMENT IN LIFE REGARDLESS OF AGE, ACTIVITIES FOR THIS GROUP ARE TRULY CENTERED ON AN INDIVIDUAL'S INTERESTS, ENERGY LEVELS AND DESIRES. PARTICIPANTS ARE INVOLVED WITH FITNESS, ART, SWIMMING, MUSIC, VOLUNTEERISM AND COMMUNITY OUTINGS.
