Our mission is to reduce sexual shame and normalize conversations about sex by fostering sex-positive artists and educators. By increasing public knowledge about human sexuality and sex-positivity, we promote sexual literacy, health, and wellness across the United States. The Effing Foundation promotes sexuality education and artistic expression of sexuality through programs that are inclusive of women (cisgender and transgender), people who are members of gender/(a)sexuality/relationship minorities, people of color, people of size, neurodiverse people, and/or people with disabilities (mental illness, chronic illness, and/or other physical disabilities).
Our mission is to reduce sexual shame and normalize conversations about sex by fostering sex-positive art and education. Our largest program is a grants program that awards grants to sex-positive artistic and/or educational projects in the US.
We awarded 20 new grants totaling $78,500 to sex-positive artistic/educational projects in the US in FY19-20. $58,182 has been disbursed in cash and goods to grantees and fiscally-sponsored projects. This year our grants benefited 834 people (participants & audience members) and reached approx. 129,500 people via social media and web.
