Camp Casco builds community for families affected by childhood cancer in New England through free camps and social opportunities.
VIRTUAL COMMUNITY-BUILDING PROGRAMS. Camp Casco offered virtual camps, virtual socials, activities such as pen-pal programs, provided assistance to families seeking support during the holidays, and connected families to appropriate additional resources in the community throughout the year. This cumulation of several smaller programs allowed our community of families affected by childhood cancer to stay connected and remain supported throughout the ongoing pandemic.
CRISIS FUND. We provided emergency financial support for families affected by childhood cancer through our Crisis Fund, created specifically for the early days of the pandemic. Grants were $500 or less and provided emergency assistance for groceries, rent, mortgage, emergency medical care or unexpected child care, to help ensure our families' access to essential resources during the initial shut-downs.
DEPRECIATION. Our all-terrain wheelchairs used for in-person camps and socials depreciated per our standard rate.
