THE ORGANIZATION'S VISION IS TO FUEL INCLUSION, VOICE, AND OPPORTUNITY FOR ALL. OTHER ACTIVITIES INCLUDE LOW INCOME HOUSING RENOVATION AND IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS. PROGRAMS ARE HELD IN WORCESTER AND PARTICIPANTS COME FROM WORCESTER COUNTY AND THE METROWEST REGION.
WORCESTER AREA MISSION SOCIETY,UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST (WAMS,UCC)IS THE MISSION ARM OF THE CENTRAL ASSOCIATION OF THE MASSACHUSETTS CONFERENCE OF THE UNITED CHURCH OF CHRIST.
THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS A FOUR-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM CALLED SUMMER CUBS AT WOODLAND ACADEMY, AN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL IN WORCESTER. THE PROGRAM SUPPORTS THE ORGANIZATION'S CHARITABLE MISSION OF HELPING INNER CITY CHILDREN IMPROVE THEIR EDUCATIONAL AND SOCIAL SKILLS THROUGH INDIVIDUALIZED STEAM LEARNING (SCIENCE, TECHNOLOGY, ENGINEERING, AND MATH, WITH ARTS INTEGRATION).
THE WAMSWORKS CONFERENCE EVENT SERIES: IS THE VEHICLE BY WHICH WAMS CONNECTS AND COLLABORATES WITH PEOPLE AND ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF WORCESTER AND THE STATE WHO ARE COMMITTED TO FRESH THINKING ABOUT HOW TO HELP INDIVIDUALS, CHILDREN AND FAMILIES OVERCOME SUCH CHALLENGES AS AFFORDABLE HOUSING AND FAMILY STABILITY, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH CARE ACCESS, CHILDHOOD TRAUMA, JOB TRAINING THAT ALLOWS OUR CURRENT WORKFORCE TO ADJUST TO FUTURE NEEDS AND NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH AND EMPOWERMENT.
THE ORGANIZATION CONDUCTS EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES WITH CONGREGATIONS TO DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN FINANCIAL AND VOLUNTEER PARTNERSHIPS WITH SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS WORKING IN THE FIELDS OF HOMELESSNESS PREVENTION AND SERVICE DELIVERY. IT ALSO CONSULTS WITH PARISH CLERGY SEEKING ADVICE ABOUT HOW TO HELP HOMELESS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES WHO COME TO THEM FOR ASSISTANCE. THESE ACTIVITIES SUPPORT THE ORGANIZATION'S CHARITABLE MISSION TO END HOMELESSNESS IN WORCESTER COUNTY.
