EXHIBITS - DURING THE CURRENT FISCAL YEAR, FEATURED EXHIBITS INCLUDED THE FOLLOWING:APRIL 2019 - JANUARY 2020 - LGBTQ EXHIBIT - THIS EXCITING EXHIBIT INCLUDES THE COLLECTION OF ORAL HISTORIES, THE CREATION OF AN LGBTQ+ ARCHIVE, AND EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMMING TO COMPLEMENT AN EXHIBIT ON GAY WORCESTER. COMMEMORATING THE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF NEW YORK'S STONEWALL UPRISING AND THE ADVENT OF THE MODERN GAY LIBERATION MOVEMENT, THE PROJECT WILL BRING TOGETHER THE SCATTERED DOCUMENTATION OF WORCESTER COUNTY'S LGBTQ+ EXPERIENCE IN PARTNERSHIP WITH COLLEGE OF THE HOLY CROSS, CLARK UNIVERSITY, WORCESTER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE AND DIGITAL WORCESTER.MLK EXHIBIT - THE ANNUAL WINNERS FOR THE MARTIN LUTHER KING POSTER CONTEST FOR THE WORCESTER PUBLIC SCHOOLS.NOVEMBER 2019 - WORCESTER FACE'S ANNIVERSARY - A LOOK BACK AT PORTRAITS TAKEN 30 YEARS AGO BY WORCESTER PHOTOGRAPHER PATRICK O'CONNOR. WE REVISIT THE STORIES OF THE PORTRAITS OF WELL KNOWN WORCESTER RESIDENTS IN 2019.FEBRUARY 2020 - BLACK HISTORY PROJECT - FOUNDED IN 2018, WORCESTER BLACK HISTORY PROJECT (WBHP) RECOGNIZES AND CELEBRATES THE EXPERIENCES OF BLACK PEOPLE IN WORCESTER AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. WBHP ENCOURAGES THE PRESERVATION AND SHARING OF THIS HISTORY THROUGH SCHOLARLY EDUCATIONAL OUTREACH AND PROGRAMMING. WBHP AND WORCESTER HISTORICAL MUSEUM (WHM) ARE WORKING IN COLLABORATION WITH LOCAL ORGANIZATIONS AND COMMUNITY STAKEHOLDERS IN THE COLLECTION AND PRESERVATION OF THIS IMPORTANT LOCAL HISTORY. THIS EXHIBIT HIGHLIGHTS THINGS FROM THE WHM COLLECTION AND ARCHIVES WITH A CALL FOR MORE TO BE ADDED TO SHARE THIS STORY.

COLLECTIONS - THE MAJORITY OF TIME SPENT DURING THE YEAR WAS FOR RESEARCHING AND ELECTRONICALLY CATALOGING EXISTING WHM COLLECTIONS AND DONATED ITEMS THAT WERE ADDED TO THE WHM COLLECTIONS. TOURS WERE ALSO GIVEN TO SCHOOL GROUPS AND THE TRAVELING PUBLIC.

LIBRARY - THE LIBRARY AND ARCHIVES RECEIVES REQUESTS FOR INFORMATION DURING THE YEAR, THROUGH VISITORS, PHONE CALLS, EMAILS AND CLASS VISITS FROM LOCAL COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES. PROJECTS INCLUDE CATALOGING THE LIBARY'S BOOKS AND OTHER FILES, INDEXING NEWS CLIPPINGS, AND MAPPING THE LOCATIONS OF ARCHIVAL MATERIALS.
