Organizations Filed Purposes:
THE MAINE LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM'S MISSION IS TO ENSURE CONSUMERS WILL BE EMPOWERED TO PROTECT THEIR RIGHTS, TO ASSURE THAT THE CARE THEY RECEIVE IS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY AND TO ADVOCATE ON THEIR BEHALF AS WELL AS SEEK SYSTEM REFORM.
MAINE LONG-TERM CARE OMBUDSMAN PROGRAM IS A STATEWIDE PROGRAM COMPRISED OF ADVOCATES FOR CONSUMERS OF LONG-TERM CARE. ITS PURPOSE IS TO INVESTIGATE AND RESOLVE COMPLAINTS MADE BY OR ON BEHALF OF LONG-TERM CARE CONSUMERS, TRAIN STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS, AND PROMOTE CITIZEN ORGANIZATION THAT WILL PARTICIPATE IN THE WORK OF THE PROGRAM. ADDITIONALLY, THEY ANALYZE AND MONITOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL LAWS; REGULATIONS AND POLICIES THAT AFFECT LONG-TERM CARE CONSUMERS; AND REPRESENT THE INTERESTS OF CONSUMERS OF LONG-TERM CARE SERVICES BEFORE GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES.
