To preserve and enhance the natural and historic resources of Fort Williams Park for future generations by providing funding support and stewardship for selected projects in the park.
To provide resources to preserve and enhance the natural beauty, history and other unique qualities of Fort Williams Park.
Establishing an arboretum at Fort Williams Park. The Foundation through its arboretum project has identified sites throughout the park to eradicate invasive plant species, restore native horticulture and animal habitat, and install hardscape for beautification and educational purposes.The Foundation began the site work, plantings, and other phases of the Children's Garden in 2016. The project was completed in September 2016. The Foundation also utilized the help of volunteers from the community to assist in the clearing along the Cliff Walk site. The Education committee partnered with the Cape Elizabeth Historical & Preservation Group to create an oral history of Fort Williams and continues their outreach with schools and youth groups to utilize the sites for educational programs.
