Transition Housing at Hope House: Hope House is the first American home for up to 13 asylum seekers at a time in Greater Portland. In addition to a safe place to live, residents are provided individualized assistance to support them on the first step of their journey to an independent, fulfilling life in the U.S.
Hope House English Language Program (HHELP) - HHELP offers English classes for beginner through intermediate level English language learners. HHELP classes are open to any adult wishing to learn or progress in their English comprehension, reading, and writing skills.
Asylum Seeker Assistance Program (ASAP) - ASAP provides help to any asylum seeker needing assistance accessing and navigating resources in the greater Portland community. ASAP activities include help finding housing, completing job applications and making appointments. ASAP also provides asylum seekers assistance in completing Federal Employment Authorization documents so asylum seekers are able to obtain work permits.
