Organizations Filed Purposes:
Our mission is to inspire people to take action and join us in increasing the presence of native plants grown from wild seed.
Seed sales: Wild Seed Project hand-collected and sold approximately 8,021 packages of seed to promote the propagation of Maine native plants. As evidenced by these online sales alone as well as volunteer support, many individuals and organizations benefitted from education about and planting of native seeds.
Magazine: Wild Seed Project successfully produced and sold a publication called Wild Seed, the purpose of which is to educate people about the importance of native plants. As evidenced by sales and distribution, over 2,400 people were educated via the magazine.
Community Events: Wild Seed Project led or attended over 49 walks, talks, workshops, conferences, and other events in 2019, benefitting several thousand individuals by educating them about the importance of native plants, and teaching them how to identify native plant species and sow native seeds.
