To support families with a baby on the way or a newborn at home through the efforts of home visiting parent educators providing in-home visits and to build a caring community for all families. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, services were also provided virtually and by phone as dictated by our service model and contract with the State of Maine.

Parent Program of Mid-Coast Maine serves families with a baby on the way or a new born at home (mothers and fathers) at time of referral in Knox, Lincoln and Sagadahoc counties, Maine, until child is 3 years old. Monies are received from a grant with the State of Maine Department of Health and Human Services through Maine Children's Trust. All grant monies are the responsibility of the Board to spend in accordance with the mandates of the grant. This funding provides salaries and benefits for eight professionals and part of the administrative specialist position and related program expenses. All staff are employees of the University of Maine. There is a memorandum of understanding with the University of Maine explaining this fiscal agreement.
