Organizations Filed Purposes:
To preserve and maintain the Channing Chapel building and grounds for the use of the Town of Winter Harbor. It is presently used by the Winter Harbor Library for use as a library and Channing Chapel receives minimum donations from library toward the upkeep of the Chapel. It serves about 500 year-round residents plus additional seasonal residents.
To provide a place for the Town of Winter Harbor Library. Above are the donated gift income and expenses of maintaining the building and grounds for year 2020. Some major upkeep issues were addressed in this year but Channing Chapel does all the upkeep that included repair of some of the stained-glass windows and starting repairs in the basement. Library donated income received is not market rental or a fixed fee but a donated gift and used toward utility expenses.
