IN 2019 YORK HARBOR READING ROOM FOUNDATION RAISED $31,100 FROM CONTRIBUTORS MAKING PROGRESS TOWARDS ITS EXPRESSED GOAL OF AN ENDOWMENT OF $500,000 TO HELP PAY FOR PROJECTS TO PRESERVE THE HISTORIC YORK HARBOR READING ROOM CLUBHOUSE BUILDING. THE FOUNDATION ACHIEVED ITS GOAL OF RAISING $500, 000. IT'S TOTAL ASSETS AT YEAR-END 2019 TOTALED $518,668. CONSISTENT WITH ITS EXEMPT PURPOSE, THE FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDED $27,160 IN FUNDING TO PAY FOR EXTERIOR MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENTS TO THE YORK HARBOR READING ROOM BUILDING AND RETAINING WALL. THESE IMPROVEMENTS WERE APPROVED BY THE OLD YORK HISTORICAL SOCIETY WHICH REVIEWS AND APPROVES IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS TO ENSURE THE IMPROVEMENTS MAINTAIN THE HISTORICAL DESIGN AND INTEGRITY OF THE BUILDING AND SURROUNDING GROUNDS.
