TO MAKE GREATER JACKSON A BETTER PLACE TO LIVE AND WORK FOR OUR CITIZENS BY PROMOTING BUSINESS AND COMMUNITY GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE GREATER JACKSON AREA FOR EXISTING AS WELL AS PROSPECTIVE BUSINESSES.
THE METRO JACKSON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE SERVICES APPROXIMATELY 1,200 MEMBERS BY PROVIDING ITS MEMBERSHIP WITH AN ANNUAL REPORT, EDUCATIONAL MATERIALS, SPECIAL PROGRAMS SERVING COMMUNITY, ECONOMIC, OR LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PURPOSES, REPRESENTATION IN VARIOUS GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS, AND PROMOTION OF EXISTING AND NEW BUSINESS TO ENHANCE THE BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
CONTRIBUTED SUPPORT WAS USED TO RENOVATE AND IMPROVE FACILITIES OF THE METRO JACKSON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND FOR MARKETING AND PROMOTION OF THE GREATER JACKSON BUSINESS COMMUNITY.
THE MISSISSIPPI HEALTHCARE CORRIDOR, LLC WILL IMPLEMENT AND GUIDE THE DEVELOPMENT OF NEW OR EXPANDED FACILITIES ALONG A FIVE MILE CORRIDOR LINKING INTERSTATE 55 TO INTERSTATE 220. THIS REDEVELOPMENT PROJECT WILL INCLUDE AN EXPANSION AND REDEVELOPMENT OF HAWKINS FIELD, DEVELOPMENT OF STATE OF THE ART BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH CENTERS AND ADDITIONS TO CENTRAL MISSISSIPPI'S HEALTH CARE INSTITUTIONS THAT IS DESIGNED TO ATTRACT PATIENTS FROM ACROSS THE SOUTHEAST. THE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT WILL ALSO INCLUDE NEIGHBORHOOD REDEVELOPMENT AND QUALITY OF LIFE FEATURES; ALONG WITH A CONCOURSE FOR HOTELS, SHOPS, RESTAURANTS, AND NIGHT LIFE. THE REDEVELOPMENT OF WOODROW WILSON BOULEVARD WILL INCLUDE SIGNAGE, PLANNED GREEN SPACE, LIGHTING, AND LANDSCAPING.
