Organizations Filed Purposes:
The mission of Family Biz Builder is to provide character, life skills, and educational and training programs.
Family Biz Builder served more than 65 participants in 2020: 50 participants received tutoring in reading comprehension, language arts and math, 15 participants learned tennis, character, and life skills, and 2 participants received employment placement.
Literacy and Education Program offered character, life skills and online educational curricula to youths 5 to 17 years old. Fifty (50) youths were served through the program. Exact Path educational software which personalizes learning across grades K-12 in reading, language arts, and math was utilized to improve participants reading comprehension, language arts and math skills. The Mentor/Mentee Match approach was used which matched each participant with a mentoring coach that provided weekly one-on-one virtual mentoring and tutoring services.
Sports & Fitness NJTL Program, a National Junior Tennis Learning (NJTL) organization, offered character, life skills, STEM education and tennis development workshops to youths 7 to 17 years old. Through the program participants learned character skills, multi-sports skills, tennis skills and game skills. Through the tennis program youth engaged in fitness activities, learned work ethics and discipline, responsibility, sportsmanship, and knowledge of the game of tennis. As education is an important component of the program, participants received training to improve their reading and academic skills.
FBB Internship Program is a year-round youth development training program designed to teach job readiness skills and provide employment placement. Participants enhance their character and life skills development through an online educational program using Everfis character playbook curriculum. Participants received workforce readiness training, leadership development and gained knowledge of the importance of good behavior and work ethic. Participants received an understanding of how to prepare for employment and built foundational work experience. Two participants graduated from the FBB Internship Program and became members of the Family Biz Builder Leadership Team.
