DISBURSED FUNDS FROM ENDOWMENT FUNDS AND DONOR-ADVISED FUNDS BENEFITING 501 (C)(3) ORGANIZATIONS. PAYMENTS ARE MADE IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE UNIFORM PRUDENT MANAGEMENT OF INSTITUTIONAL FUNDS ACTS OF MONTANA.
THE BILLINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION IN RECOGNITION OF THE SPRING 2020 COVID-19 19 PANDEMIC LOCKDOWN, RESCHEDULED ITS ANNUAL GIVING DAY, ALSO KNOWN AS YELLOWSTONE VALLEY GIVES FOR SPRING 2021. GIVING DAY IS A 24 HOUR "CROWDFUNDING" EVENT WHICH USED SOCIAL MEDIA AND EMBRACES NEW TECHNOLOGIES TO PROVIDE A CONVENIENT WAY FOR THE PUBLIC TO SUPPORT PARTICIPATING NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS. DONATIONS ARE TRACKED ONLINE AND PRIZES ARE AWARDED TO PARTICIPATING NON-PROFITS AT MULTIPLE GIVING-RELATED INTERVALS THROUGHOUT THE 24 HOUR PERIOD. IN PAST YEARS OVER 150 NONPROFITS SIGNED UP AS PARTICIPANTS BEFORE THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC FORCED SUSPENSION OF THE EVENT.ALTHOUGH THE GIVING DAY EVENT WAS SUSPENDED FOR A YEAR, MASKED CRUSADERS OF B-TOWN DISTRIBUTED OVER 5859 MASKS TO 65 ORGANIZATIONS THROUGHOUT THE BILLINGS AREA. SIX OF EVERY 10 MASKS MADE THEIR WAY TO NONPROFITS. A MONTANA SOCIAL SERVICES GRANT WILL ASSIST IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY WIDE PSA ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO WEAR MASKS. A SECOND COVID-19 RELATED INITIATIVE SAW THE BILLINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION PARTNERING WITH THE LOCAL UNITED WAY TO DISTRIBUTE $90,000 OF COVID-19 RELIEF DONATIONS TO 22 DIFFERENT LOCAL SOCIAL WELFARE ORGANIZATIONS.
BILLINGS COMMUNITY FOUNDATION SUPPORTS THROUGH FISCAL SPONSOFSHIPS COMMUNITY PROJECTS FOR THE YELLOWSTONE REGION INCLUDING THE CONSTRUCTION AND FURNISHING OF A COMMUNITY CENTER FOR THE STUDENDS AND ELDERS OF WYOLA, MT. ALSO PROVIDE FISCAL SPONSORSHIP FOR A STATEWIDE GATHERING WHERE WOMEN IN AGRICULTURE PROVIDE EDUCATION, NETWORKING AND WORKSHOPS. OTHER FISCAL SPONSORSHIPS ASSIST GROUPS WITH THE CUTURAL AND SOCIAL NEEDS WITHIN THE REGION.DURING THE CURRENT REPORTING PERIOD, THE ORGANIZATION INITIATED A NEW FISCAL SPONSORSHIP FOR A BILLINGS SUBDIVISION AND NEIGHBORHOOD COMMUNITY, COPPER RIDGE. SPECIFICALLY, DONATIONS ACCUMULATED WERE UTLIIZED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PLAYGROUND/ PARK AREA, OUTFITTED WITH NEW PLAYGROUND EQUIPMENT
