Organizations Filed Purposes: THE MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL IS ORGANIZED TO PROTECT AND INCREASE DEMAND FOR BEEF AND BEEF PRODUCTS THROUGH STATE, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL CONSUMER MARKETING PROGRAMS OF BEEF PROMOTION, RESEARCH AND EDUCATION; THEREBY ENHANCING PROFIT OPPORTUNITIES FOR MONTANA BEEF PRODUCERS.

TO UNIFY ALL SEGMENTS OF THE MONTANA LIVESTOCK INDUSTRY

THE MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL READMITS $.50 OF EVERY $1 CHECK-OFF COLLECTED TO THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD PER THE BEEF PROMOTION AND RESEARCH ACT OF 1985. THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD IS THE NATIONAL ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHED BY THE BEEF PROMOTION AND RESEARCH ACT OF 1985 FOR THE PROMOTION OF THE BEEF INDUSTRY. DUE TO A COURT-ORDERED PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION ON JUNE 21, 2017, ONE HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE BEEF CHECKOFF COLLECTIONS THAT WERE RECEIVED IN THE MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL OFFICE WERE SENT TO THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD. A PROCESS WAS ESTABLISHED THAT ALLOWED PRODUCERS TO CONSENT FOR THE MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL TO RETAIN UP TO $.50 OF THEIR BEEF CHECKOFF COLLECTION. THE CONSENTED FUNDS ARE USED TO CARRY OUT PROMOTION, EDUCATION AND RESEARCH PROGRAMS.ON MARCH 27, 2020, THE MONTANA FEDERAL DISTRICT COURT ENTERED A FINAL JUDGEMENT WHICH EFFECTIVELY DISOLVED THE PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION PREVIOUSLY IN PLACE SINCE JUNE 21, 2017. MONTANA BEEF PRODUCERS ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED TO COMPLETE A PRODUCER CONSENT TO FUND MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL FORM. AS OF MARCH 27, 2020, THE MONTANA BEEF COUNCIL RESUMED THE READMITTANCE OF $.50 OF EVERY $1 CHECK-OFF TO THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD, RETAINING THE MONTANA $.50 OF EVERY $1 CHECKOFF. PRODUCERS ARE STILL PERMITTED TO REDIRECT THEIR $.50 TO THE CATTLEMEN'S BEEF BOARD.

THE COUNCIL SUPPORTS THE US MEAT EXPORT FEDERATION WHOSE MISSION IS TO INCREASE THE VALUE AND THE PROFITABILITY OF THE US BEEF, PORK, AND LAMB INDUSTRIES BY ENHANCING DEMAND FOR THEIR PRODUCTS IN EXPORT MARKETS THROUGH A DYNAMIC PARTNERSHIP OF ALL STAKEHOLDERS. "PUTTING U.S. MEAT ON THE WORLD'S TABLE."

TO HELP PROMOTE THE BEEF INDUSTRIES, THE COUNCIL FUNDS PROJECTS THAT FOLLOW THE COUNCIL'S MISSION.
