Organizations Filed Purposes:
To address issues and concerns relevant to organic inspectors, to provide quality inspector training, and to promote integrity and consistency in the organic certification process.
IOIA provided inspector training to over 750 individuals through 59 different training events and webinars. Events were sponsored or cosponsored by the International Organic Inspectors Association. IOIA has about 240 inspector members from more than a dozen countries who conduct inspections for a wide variety of private and government organic certification bodies worldwide.
Sold resources including books, manuals, newsletters, other publications and organic coffee.
Peer Evaluation was a pilot program in 2015, for evaluating inspectors for certification agencies. This program has continued since then. The outcome was that it informed IOIA's training program and satisfied a U.S. government requirement for field observations of all inspectors as part of the certifier's annual evaluation of inspectors.
