Organizations Filed Purposes: DEVELOP AND STRENGTHEN MISSOULA COUNTY'S FOOD SYSTEM: PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE, BUILD REGIONAL SELF-RELIANCE, AND ASSURE ALL CITIZENS EQUAL ACCESS TO HEALTHY, AFFORDABLE AND CURLTURALLY APPROPRIATE FOODS.

FOOD ACCESS PROGRAM - DSD -SINCE 2015, CFAC HAS ADMINISTERED THE STATEWIDE DOUBLE SNAP DOLLARS (DSD) PROGRAM, ALLOWING MONTANANS WHO RECEIVE SNAP BENEFITS TO DOUBLE THEIR BENEFIT DOLLARS AT FARMERS MARKETS, INCREASING THEIR ACCESS TO FRESH, LOCAL FOOD. THE DSD PROGRAM, HAS SERVED NEARLY 6,000 MONTANANS AND HAS RECIRCULATED OVER 450,000 TO OUR LOCAL FARMERS, RANCHERS, AND FARMERS MARKETS. -25 SITES NOW OFFER DOUBLE SNAP DOLLARS (DSD) 22 FARMERS MARKETS, 2 CSA'S AND 1 GROCERY STORE. -CFAC HAS CREATED AND NOW LEADS A MULTI-SECTOR, STATEWIDE NETWORK OF 14 PARTNER ORGANIZATIONS THAT GUIDE THE IMPROVEMENT OF PROGRAM EFFICIENCY AND INNOVATION FOR DSD ACROSS MONTANA.

FARMLAND CONSERVATION/LAND USE ADVOCACY -CFAC CONTINUES TO BE A LEADING VOICE IN THE EFFORT TO PROTECT FARMLAND IN WESTERN MONTANA. WE HOLD A PERMANENT SEAT ON THE NEWLY FORMED MISSOULA CITY/COUNTY FOOD POLICY ADVISORY BOARD, INCREASING OUR ABILITY TO MAKE CHANGE IN LAND USE, FOOD ACCESS AND MORE AT THE POLICY LEVEL.

BEGINNING FARMERS AND RANCHERS PROGRAMS -CFAC HOSTED 65 WORKSHOPS AND TRAININGS FOCUSED ON ON-FARM MARKETING, FINANCIAL PLANNING, PRODUCTION TECHNIQUES AND MORE AND OVER 370 PEOPLE HAVE ATTENDED THESE TRAININGS AND WORKSHOPS. -24 PARTNERS PARTICIPATING IN BEGINNING FARMERS AND RANCHERS TRAINERS NETWORK, WORKING TOGETHER TO IMPROVE TRAINING AND SUPPORT FOR NEW AND ASPIRING FARMERS FROM ACROSS THE STATE. -144,500 (OVER 19 LOANS) WAS DIRECTED TO LOCAL FARMERS FROM CFAC ENDORSED FARM PROJECTS FOR 0% CROWD SOURCED LOANS THROUGH KIVA SINCE 2017. 38,500 WAS DIRECTED TO FARMERS SO FAR THIS YEAR. -CFAC GAVE 62,000 DIRECT TO FARMERS IN MINI-GRANTS THIS PAST YEAR THROUGH OUR FIELD TESTED MINI-GRANT PROGRAM TO ASSIST WITH ON-FARM EFFICIENCIES AND SPECIALTY CROP PRODUCTION. OUR PITCH FEST EVENT ALSO ALLOWS COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO LEARN ABOUT THESE FARMERS AND THE PROJECTS THEY NEED FUNDING FOR. -WE CONTINUE TO WORK TO PAIR BEGINNING FARMERS WITH FARMLAND, MENTORS AND WORK OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH OUR FARMLINK PROGRAM.
