Organizations Filed Purposes:
Providing lifelong sanctuary to non-releasable greater Yellowstone ecosystem wildlife while providing a message of education and conservation.
Provide housing and care to native wildlife from the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem that cannot be released into the wild due to being injured, orphaned, or habituated to humans.
Provide conservation and wildlife education to Sanctuary visitors, area schools, and community organizations. In 2019, this expanded into online venues to allow a broader reach for our educational programs. In 2019 the Sunctuary reached 3,537 individuals, including 3150 through onsite programs and tours. The sanctuary also collaborated with five partners on educational programs and outreach. The sanctuary had 12,394 visitors in 2019.
In an effort to improve quality of care for the animal residents at the Sanctuary and improve communication and collaboration with like organizations around the country, the Yellowstone Wildlife Sanctuary achieved accreditation with the American Sanctuary Association in 2019.
