CAPITOL CENTER FOR THE ARTS IS DEDICATED TO BRINGING OUTSTANDING ARTISTS AND AUDIENCES TOGETHER, FOSTERING EXPERIENCES THAT INSPIRE, EDUCATE, ENTERTAIN, AND STRENGTHEN COMMUNITY BONDS.
PRESENT LOCAL AND NATIONAL PER- FORMANCES THAT INSPIRE AND EDUCATE; USED AS COMMUNITY MEETING PLACE. CURATING THE PERFORMING ARTS; ENGAGING PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, INVITING AND INTRODUCING PEOPLE TO THE PERFORMING ARTS AT NO COST THROUGH SOCIAL SERVICE NETWORKS IN THE STATE; ENGAGING YOUNG PEOPLE IN LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES WITH INTEGRATED CURRICULUM; RESTORING AND MAINTAINING THE HISTORIC BUILDINGS THAT MAKE UP THE CCA CAMPUS.
THEATER PRODUCTION AND SHOWS - AT THE 44 S. MAIN ST. CAMPUS, THE CENTER MAINTAINS THE 1,304 SEAT CHUBB THEATER THAT IS EQUIPPED TO PRESENT A WIDE MIX OF HIGH-QUALITY EVENTS INCLUDING DANCE PERFORMANCES; CURRENT AND CLASSICAL MUSICAL ARTISTS; FAMILY SHOWS AND EXPERIENCES; LOCAL, NATIONAL, AND INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS AND COMEDIANS; IN JUNE 2019 THE CCA OPENED A SECOND PERFORMANCE SPACE, THE BANK OF NH STAGE AT 16 S. MAIN ST. THE REMODELED HISTORIC THEATRE, FEATURES A FLEXIBLE SEATING CONFIGURATION, A LARGE VIDEO WALL, A CAF SET UP PERFORMANCE AREA, AND A NEW HOME FOR THE CCA BOX OFFICE. THE BANK OF NH STAGE PRESENTS LOCAL AND REGIONAL TOURING MUSIC ARTISTS, INTIMATE THEATRE PRODUCTIONS AND IS THE NEW HOME FOR THE MET LIVE IN HD AND OTHER BROADCAST PROGRAMING. CCA WAS ON TRACK TO WELCOME 90,000 PATRONS FROM NEAR AND FAR FOR ONE OR MORE OF THE 300 SCHEDULED PRESENTATIONS WHEN THE PANDEMIC HIT IN MARCH 2020. THE CLOSURE OF THE CENTER FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE FISCAL YEAR MEANT ONLY 260 PERFORMANCES TOOK PLACE WITH 58,000 PATRONS ATTENDING. THE CENTER CONTINUED TO ISSUES VOUCHERS FOR PAIRS OF TICKETS TO SELECT PERFORMANCES TO LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION IN SUPPORT OF THEIR FUNDRAISERS. THE CENTER ALSO ISSUES TO OVER 25 LOCAL SOCIAL SERVICE ORGANIZATIONS, VOUCHERS FOR PAIRS OF TICKETS TO CERTAIN PERFORMANCES TO OFFER TO THEIR CLIENTS AS PART OF THE CENTER'S ANGEL TICKET PROGRAM.
EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS - EACH YEAR SOME 10,000 STUDENTS THROUGHOUT NEW HAMPSHIRE VISIT THE CENTER. EDUCATORS AND PARENTS PRIZE THE SCHOOL-SERIES PERFORMANCES AND OUTREACH ACTIVITIES AND SYMPOSIA ON SUCH TOPICS AS RACISM AND INTOLERANCE. WORKING WITH LOCAL AND STATE EDUCATORS, THE CAPITOL CENTER HAS SUCCESSFULLY LINKED THE SCHOOL SERIES STATEWIDE CURRICULA GOALS, MAKING THE PROGRAMMING EVEN MORE VALUABLE.
FACILITIES RENTALS - THE CENTER'S GOVERNOR'S HALL IS A FULL-SERVICE FUNCTION ROOM THAT CAN ACCOMMODATE UP TO 250 GUESTS, AND THE ADJACENT KIMBALL HOUSE, A VICTORIAN MANSION FEATURING A STATELY, FORMAL DINING ROOM, LIBRARY, PARLOR, AND BOARD ROOM. THE UPSTAIRS CAF, KNOWN AT THE CANTIN ROOM AT THE BANK OF NH IS ALSO AVAILABLE FOR COMMUNITY EVENTS. AMONG ALL VENUE OPPORTUNITIES, 80 COMMUNITY EVENTS WERE ANTICIPATED TO TAKE PLACE, RANGING FROM BUSINESS CONFERENCES AND SEMINARS, CELEBRATORY AND FUNDRAISING PROGRAMS BY OTHER NONPROFITS IN THE CAPITAL REGION, AND MEMORIAL, RETIREMENT, AND WEDDING PARTIES FOR INDIVIDUAL CLIENTS. THE IMPACT OF THE PANDEMIC LOWERED THE NUMBER OF EVENTS TO TO 60.
