Organizations Filed Purposes: POLITICAL EQUALITY FOR ALL THROUGH AN OPEN, ACCOUNTABLE, AND TRUSTED GOVERNMENT FREE FROM THE CORRUPTION OF BIG-MONEY POLITICS

The Coalition for Open Democracy worked toward an inclusive, representative democracy in which everyone has a voice. During a pandemic, we worked to ensure no one had to choose between their health and voting. We also held several phone banks, making approximately 200,000 calls to voters to educate them on how to vote by absentee , and we recruited poll workers and ran election protection efforts. Open Democracy also celebrated the 20th anniversary of our founders walk, preserving Granny s legacy and honoring 100 Years of Women Walking for Democracy at the 2020 Granny D Memorial Walk. We held two educational walks, a Democracy in Action Conference via zoom, several film screenings and other educational program events. We encouraged census competition and worked to advance fair redistricting. We produced a weekly radio PSA titled The Open Democracy Minute, which is played on several stations and produced a monthly newsletter.
