Organizations Filed Purposes: To work with communities and landowners to conserve the natural resources, wild and working lands, rural character, and scenic beauty of the Monadnock Region.

LAND PROTECTIONThe organization secured seven permanent conservation easements on 996 acres of land. These easements provide the following public benefits protection of significant wildlife habitat as identified by our state wildlife action plan expansion of existing undeveloped blocks of conservation land conservation of highly productive soils that are suitable for both farming and forestry protection of water resources, including streams, wetlands, floodplain, and aquifers protection of scenic views and rural character, including land along the federally-designated Connecticut River scenic byway and protection of public access for nonmotorized recreational uses on four of the easements. Staff presented educational workshops on land conservation and related topics at regional, statewide, and national conferences. The organization was an active member of the Quabbin-to-Cardigan Initiative, which is a collaborative landscape-scale effort to conserve the Monadnock highlands of north-central Massachusetts and western New Hampshire. continued on Schedule O

CONSERVATION EASEMENT STEWARDSHIPStaff trained and coordinated 25 volunteers and one intern to monitor 221 conservation properties totaling more than 19,000 acres. Staff performed visits and created baseline documentation reports for eight new conservation easements totaling more than 1,000 acres. Staff ensured all the organizations conservation holdings were enrolled in Terrafirma defense insurance. The organization began drafting one new conservation easement amendment to resolve a significant violation and clarify easement terms.

OUTREACH AND EDUCATION The organization published an annual report, 2 semiannual print newsletters, and monthly electronic newsletters about land conservation in southwestern New Hampshire. Social media channels continued to engage 1,500 followers on such topics as natural history, recent news, staff activities on the land, and upcoming events. Events included 14 presentations, 3 workshops, 5 co-hosted educational films, and 15 public hikes, reaching approximately 500 people. Signature events included an annual meeting 115 attendees with a featured speaker and a storytelling event 260 attendees at which local speakers shared their personal experiences about how connection to land impacts their lives. continued on Schedule O
