Organizations Filed Purposes:
NeighborWorks Southern New Hampshire enhances people's lives and the community environment by providing access to quality housing services, revitalizing neighborhoods and supporting opportunities for personal empowerment. The target market for NeighborWorks (NWSNH) services is very low, low, and moderate income individuals and families who are at a disadvantage for achieving economic stability, such as single mothers, immigrants and the working poor. Our goal is to help disadvantaged families build assets and achieve greater economic stability so they may escape a cycle of financial struggle or poverty and build a better future for their families and also the communities in which they live. NeighborWorks does this through a focus on affordable housing and community development. For FY2019, approximately 2,100 individuals benefited from services provided by NeighborWorks.
Low Income Housing
Home Ownership - offering a panoply of educational seminars, workshops and one-on-one counseling to help individuals and families understand critical components of homeownership, including its financial responsibilities, maintenance and upkeep of a home, and the process and elements of purchasing a home, including consideration of whether home purchase is a prudent choice at this time. NeighborWorks is a HUD-approved counseling agency with HUD licensed counselors on staff. In addition, NeighborWorks is authorized as a mortgage lender to provide lending products to income-qualified clients. The Education/Counseling programs include: First-time homebuyer, landlord training, and financial capabilities.
Neighborhood Development - activities to develop affordable housing for sale or rent and create/facilitate community and neighborhood-based activities including initiatives to engage tenants and residents in their community and/or revitalize neglected neighborhoods.
