TRANSFORMATIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM PROVIDES EXTENSIVE CASE MANAGEMENT, EDUCATIONAL AND JOB SKILL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES AND AFFORDABLE HOUSING TO WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN NEED TO HELP THEM STABILIZE, TRANSFORM AND ULTIMATELY FLOURISH INTO INDEPENDENCE. TYPICALLY FAMILIES REMAIN IN THE PROGRAM FOR OVER 2 YEARS. THE THREE-PHASED HOUSING PROGRAM SERVED 71 WOMEN AND CHILDREN (26 FAMILIES) THIS PAST FISCAL YEAR.
HOUSING STABILITY PROGRAM PROVIDES HOUSING SUPPORTS IN ORDER TO HELP FAMILIES MAINTAIN OR OBTAIN PERMANENT HOUSING. IT PREVENTS HOMELESSNESS BY OFFERING FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE WITH EVICTION OR UTILITY DISCONNECTIONS. RAPID RE-HOUSING SERVICES ARE ALSO AVAILABLE TO HELP TRANSITION FAMILIES CURRENTLY HOMELESS INTO PERMANENT HOUSING WHO ARE 30% OF AREA MEDIAN INCOME WITH SHORT-TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE AND CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES PROVIDED. IN ADDITION, SECURITY DEPOSIT LOANS ARE OFFERED TO HELP FAMILIES SECURE SAFE, PERMANENT HOUSING WITH NO INTEREST OR FINANCIAL CHARGES ASSESSED AND REPAYMENT TERMS OF 18-24 MONTHS. IN THIS FISCAL YEAR, 442 UNITS OF SERVICE WERE PROVIDED HELPING 315 ADULTS AND CHILDREN IN 139 HOUSEHOLDS. THE HOUSING STABILITY PROGRAM ALSO OFFERS 6 UNITS OF PERMANENT AFFORDABLE HOUSING WITH SHATTUCK PLACE TO FAMILIES WHO ARE BELOW 60% OF MEDIAN AREA INCOME. SHATTUCK PLACE SERVED 6 FAMILIES, 16 ADULTS AND CHILDREN. OTHER SUPPORTIVE SERVICES INCLUDE FINANCIAL LITERACY PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDES BASIC FINANCIAL EDUCATION TO HELP FAMILIES WITH BUDGETING AND UNDERSTANDING CREDIT AND IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT LARGE. THE AGENCY'S HOLIDAY PROGRAM PROVIDED GIFTS, TOYS AND FOOD TO 352 FAMILIES SERVING 756 CHILDREN.
