THE ROCHESTER OPERA HOUSE IS A NONPROFIT PERFORMING ARTS ORGANIZATION. ITS MISSION IS TO ENTERTAIN, STIMULATE AND EDUCATE AUDIENCES OF ALL AGES THROUGH A VARIETY OF HIGH QUALITY ARTISTIC PROGRAMMING, AND TO PRESERVE THE HISTORIC ROCHESTER OPERA HOUSE AS A VENUE AND CULTURAL CENTER FOR THE COMMUNITY. THE BOARD IS ALSO DEDICATED TO IMPROVING THE QUALITY OF LIFE AND THE ECONOMIC VITALITY OF THE GREATER ROCHESTER, NEW HAMPSHIRE REGION.
THE ROCHESTER OPERA HOUSE, INC. (THE OPERA HOUSE), A HISTORICAL LANDMARK ENSCONCED WITHIN ROCHESTER CITY HALL, IS A CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL ORGANIZATION PRESENTING LIVE ENTERTAINMENT TO PATRONS FROM SEVERAL HUNDRED NEW ENGLAND CITIES AND TOWNS. SEVEN DISTINCT SERIES ARE DESIGNED TO APPEAL TO ALL AGES AND ALL INTERESTS. THE HISTORIC THEATRE BUILT IN 1908 IS THE ONLY ONE OF ITS KIND IN THE COUNTRY WITH A MOVEABLE ORCHESTRA FLOOR LEVELING/RAISING MECHANISM, ALLOWING FOR DIVERSE FLAT FLOOR EVENTS.
