The mission of the Friends of the Concord - Lake Sunapee Rail Trail is to build and maintain a 34 mile multi-use trail through the New Hampshire municipalities of Concord, Hopkinton, Warner, Sutton, Bradford and Newbury.
The Stevens Rail Trail project construction expenses. 1.65 miles of trail was graded and surfaced. a 330' long stockade fence was installed. Two trail gates were installed. Trail use signs were installed. The surfacing was completed in October and the trail has seen steady use since. This project connected with an existing trail that enables users to reach the Hopkinton Library and Senior Center from the Davisville neighborhood of Warner. 128 hours of volunteer labor were donated to this project in 2019 by 12 members of the community.
Bradford trail construction between High St and Gillingham Drive. Grading and stone dust was applied to this section of trail. Volunteers installed silt control, built and installed wheelset benches, built a kiosk, and posted trail use signage. The trail created a safe bypass of a highway and enabled walking loops in the neighborhood.
Concord - Carter Hill to Fisherville permitting and construction. 296 hours of volunteer labor from 36 different volunteers assisted with this project in 2019. The project is still under construction.
